Good Morning Monday, 9th March 2026

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

Yep, posts are somewhat sparse at the moment aren’t they.

I am feeling the effects of the meds at the moment, I don’t deal well with high dosages of opiods,

I simply can’t see the point of becoming an addict, they addle my brain , I don’t like that at all.

It is cold here, I am having to use electric heaters and portable gas heaters as my gas fire and boiler have yet to be fixed after the fire.

They may well have to be completely replaced.

I am sat here looking at my coffee table with the drug dealers scales, measuring spoons and various white powders on display.

If the police came they would think that they had hit the jackpot, just like a drug making operation.

The reality is that my reef tank water parameters are all over the place, so I am concocting a mix of chemicals to sort that out, the manufacturers charge a fortune for things I can make for a fraction of the price.

I have Sawna here this morning sorting out more paperwork and Josh will be round when it stops raining to continue with clearing the garden and putting down thw weedkiller and fertilizer.

A part from that, it will be trying to get some sleep.

Have a good day all.

Good morning Dearest Gentle fellow Bridgerton fans, have you seen the final four episodes ? I watched them over the weekend and just didn’t want it to end, the best thing I’ve seen on TV for ages, even the glasses used for the champagne pyramid at the ball were fabulous !

Enjoy the sunshine, those fortunate enough to have it, and have a good day

Good morning all…

A misty grey and cold day down here by the seaside. Supposed to be going for a dental checkup, but the nice receptionist was kind enough to wake me up and let me know my dentist has gone sick, which has messed up my day a little. So later, I’m dropping off the wife at the gym again, grab a coffee and something to eat and no idea what’s going down after that. Probably sit down and sort out a few issues with my PC as its playing up a bit.

Have a great day all…

Good morning all!

Dreary grey skies again, looks as if spring has done a runner
Just popped over the road to pick up my chillies for the week, a few are destined for the freezer…

Since I have only my left ear pierced with a green titanium BCR I’m feeling a little unbalanced
Something a tad more discreet in the right lobe, also in green titanium…

As I’m going to be doing the deed myself I have a pack of dedicated 1.2mm sterile piercing needles arriving from Amazon later today.

Have a good day people! :+1:

Morning all – another damp grey day – oh how I miss the Australian sunshine!

Stayed in all day Saturday as I was expecting a parcel which didn’t arrive. I have contacted the company this morning to ask if and when it will be delivered – awaiting their reply. It means I will have to stay in until either I hear from them or the parcel arrives – hopefully the latter!

Wow Chilliboot - piercing your ears yourself!!! Won’t that be painful?

Take care – have a great day

Good Morning from South Yorkshire… :039:
Wall to wall cloud here but at least it was dry and not too cold 8º C.
Back in 2019 I went for a medical with a private company, it cost me a packet, but the tests were comprehensive and thorough.
They kept emailing me since then and so I decided to go for another, although some of the tests couldn’t be performed due to my ICD, But the blood tests are of particular interest, and there were plenty of those, 18 I think…
I don’t know about anyone else but I hate reading off a screen, and the last lot in 2019 were presented in a book, but technology moves on, and the recent tests were sent electronically. So today’s job is to print them all off…
Mrs Fox is going to the choir soon, so the house will be quiet.

With a printed copy you can flick through the pages or do something else and come back to it, and if anything goes wrong you don’t risk losing it Chilli…It’s nice to be able to walk to a cupboard or drawer and have a look through stuff instead of firing up the computer and getting side tracked with the forum, youtube or X…
The amount of times I’ve turned on the laptop just to find out some piece of info and ended up spending a couple of hours on the forum…

Yep!
I recently bought a couple of tickets for a gig. Naively I thought I’d be receiving them in hard copy. Oh no, they’re on my phone. The ticket agency suggests that I should get their app and then store the tickets in some kind of virtual wallet :thinking:
What larks!

When we were in New York last December, I took my wife to a broadway show she always wanted to see as a birthday present. I bought the tickets six months before we went. Lo and behold, I had no option than to download an app and wait for the ‘virtual’ tickets to appear (a QR code) just before the show - and standing in the line to get in, I suddenly found that I had to update the stupid app (US version different to UK version), re-register, log in, flick past a thousand adverts, get the stupid tickets to appear on screen, all the time hoping my connection didn’t drop out (no WiFi), batteries didn’t go flat or my patience expire in the process. To top it off, they were made unprintable as a ‘security measure’, so I couldn’t use paper copies. What happens if to someone who doesn’t own or want a phone these days?

Years ago, life was simple, but not these days it would seem.

Hi Ambre, yes, I saw the last two episodes yesterday, loved it! So sorry it’s finished, but now I’ve started watching the prequel Queen Charlotte which seems to be just as good.

Good afternoon to the rest of you fellow forumers, just been outside doing some pruning and cutting up the branches to add to our firewood stack, they’re necessary for lighting. I really love using my mini battery chainsaw .This time of year is great for doing jobs outdoors, not too cold, not too warm yet.

Sorry to hear about your son’s car accident @Bruce , glad he wasn’t too badly injured.

Hoping you get all those remaining repairs sorted out soon @swimfeeders , you’ve been through so much already.

Have a good Monday afternoon and evening everyone.

I agree totally Foxy. I print out my bills which are all sent by email now, because our village postal service is virtually non-existent and if there’s one thing I hate it’s paying bills by phone with no written receipt.I print out my blood test results too.

Add in anxiety and you have my life - I am stressed as is, without technology drama!

I do miss paper tickets, there’s far too much too go wrong…also I rarely go to events (I am going to one on Wednesday, Transmission at Wembley, which I was stressing about tickets - they only send them a few days before which adds the stress!).

I find paper tickets were checked faster, whereas not only do I have to remember to install the app or download the PDF to my phone, I have to remember to charge it, and it’s slower as everyone puts their PIN into their phone, or boots it up, and then struggle to finds the app which often refuses to work for some reason, often cos the venue has no signal…

The only worse is the Network Railcard which is hidden in my train app, and some jobsworths insist on seeing the screen before letting me out - and that terrible COVID vaccine app which never worked properly…

…trying to do this stuff as someone who has a very special anxiety about being watched - I failed my driving test 3 times cos of this - while I do things as a bouncer/railworker glowers at me and assumes I don’t have it…I just go red and get into a panic state.
