Good Morning Monday, 8th September 2025

Good morning all, after my early morning tragic Moon eclipse non event I was woken to a warm spring day by the sound of a roaring wood mulcher as the electricity company carried out its ritual butchering of the trees in my street to keep them clear of the power lines.

On the way to my Monday morning coffee and cake ritual I called in at my PO Box to collect a set of books I ordered and a small fitting for my camera. I might add something about the latter in the photograph section.

A friend needs a new computer as his is faulty but also unsuitable for Windows 11 so much discussion over coffee centred about recommendations for that, varying from refurbished desktops to brand new laptops. I wonder what he will get?

It is supposed to get to 28° today which is quite lovely after the winter we have had - BOM said it was an average winter, just a bit wetter than usual but frankly nobody believes them.

Nothing much planned for this arvo, no doubt something will crop up.

Enjoy the new week.

Take care…

Morning all on this pleasant bright Monday.

Another start of the week begins…at least it would be if I wasn’t retired.

Yesterdays efforts to snap a red moon was a bust and we spent hours down by the seaside waiting for it to appear, only to have clouds obscure everything. That said, we were sat in the car eating fish and chips whilst it was going on, so at least Mrs G was happy.

Meanwhile, I’ve just come back from my daily walk, pick up a prescription and check up on a family of swans that live by a water feature. Mrs G is trying to sort out some legal paperwork about my father in law and I have some camera stuff being delivered. My back garden needs a good going over, but I think that can wait until tomorrow.

Meanwhile my porridge laced with strawberry jam, washed down with a generous mug of coffee, awaits. Have a great day all…

:coffee: :+1: :grinning:

A quick phone pic I took during my walk…

Morning all – after yesterday’s heavy rain and thunder we have sunshine this morning

As a result of the heavy rain sister-in-law rang to say she wouldn’t be coming after all – I don’t blame her in the least, I wouldn’t have wanted to go out in that downpour!

Well, I now feel really old. Discussion on local radio this morning was about writing things down rather than using a computer. The presenter mentioned ink-wells, his much younger co-presenter had to have it explained to her what they were!

Gardener is due today – hope the sunshine lasts long enough for him to tidy the garden

Take care – have a lovely day

The forum is just too interesting and by the time I’ve caught up with the latest postings and news items it’s afternoon already…Anyway, good afternoon everyone…
I was out on the road just after seven and pedalled my way around a 16 mile route under a clear blue cloudless sky. It wasn’t until I changed direction to come home that I realised that it was windier that I thought, so it’s taken a bit out of the legs…
Rosie’s been chasing leaves across the lawn and by the look of the flower beds,I should be doing some weeding…Perhaps tomorrow when it’s just a walk along the canal towpath.
Mrs Fox has just left for choir practice at the church hall so I’ll have me dinner and try another hard sudoku. They are not going so well, I thought I was a grand master waltzing through the two and three star ones, but apparently not…
Soup of the day is Minestrone, accompanied by a slice of hot buttered toast…
