Good morning everybody on this lovely tropical morn.
Today is a rest day for me though I got up at my usual time just before dawn.
I went out for fuel and a walk around town mid morning, this doesn’t take long population 550. Back at the caravan park I hand washed my towel and yesterday’s clothes.
When one of the town’s main attractions is its water tower then you know that there is not a lot going on
The town gets its water from the Great Artesian Basin you all learned about in geography (well, I did anyway)
As I wasn’t using the car i put up the awning, then decided to try the side awning that came with it - haven’t even taken it out of the bag before. It is quite effective as a sail. Annoyingly it is only two metres wide whereas the awning is 2.5 metres. It was on special so can’t complain too much.
As you can imagine it is not cold I think it is in the low 30s during the day but gets down to 15 or 16° at night.
BTW it is a public holiday in Queensland so they have had three long weekends in a row! Doesn’t seem fair
Enjoy your Monday
Take care…

Good morning all!
I’m going to spend some time catching up on forum matters . I got involved with other stuff (again) over the last week or so and kind of drifted off… nothing new there!
We’re staying in today dossing around at home, a combination of a glass or two of red, twiddling my thumbs and housework. I can’t complain, we went out for hefty pub lunch yesterday followed by sitting outside drinking Stella listening to live punk music with a hint of Oi!
The Toad Wranglers are a local band that perform covers, everything from Ramones to Sham 69.
I polished my bovver boots to perfection
Enjoy your bank holiday Monday people!

Not much happening today as far as know but with the family being at loose ends, the day can never be foretold.
Have a good day.

Morning all – another sunny start to the day but colder and windy
Had a parcel delivered yesterday, these deliveries are getting later as it didn’t arrive until 7.30 pm, felt sorry for the driver as he looked as if he had had a long day.
Only plans for today are to wait for another parcel (yes more books) and, as it is a Bank Holiday, drink coffee, eat too much, read my book and ignore any chores for the day!
Take care – have a lovely day

Hi everyone!
Today is still a holiday here, so I didn’t have to go to work.
I woke up at 5 a.m. to go for a bike ride this morning. After that, I came back home, cooked, and did some cleaning.
Now I’m getting ready to take a shower and relax.
I had dinner a bit early today because I have to work tomorrow.
Wishing you all a happy day!

Happy Monday…Hey! that would be a good name for a group…
Although nice and dry with occasional visits from the sun, the North Easterly wind was particularly cruel to early morning walkers in shorts…Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Just 6 degrees C when I set off.
Managed to scoot round in a very good time with no running today, but too cold to stop to take photos…
Interesting @Bruce, in Australia you use awnings to keep the sun off you but here in the blighty, we use them to keep the rain and biting East wind off…
Good to hear from you @Chilliboot those boots look amazing.
Ha! yes @SheilaP occasionally when I was a self employed courier I worked for a few parcel companies when their drivers were off sick or failed to turn up for work. The parcels still had to be delivered so they called me to do a days ‘Multi-Drop’ it was very long hours until you had delivered all the parcels, and not being your regular round, you had to sort out the order of delivery and sometimes worked in a town or city you weren’t familiar with.
At the end of the day, sometimes late into the evening, if felt like you had just jumped off a roundabout and had to take a minute to come down. Despite this, I got paid three times what the proper driver would have received for a the day’s work. I much preferred the long drives, but when you work for yourself I never turned down a job.
