Good morning everyone, a quite warm day with temperatures in the high 20s.
Yesterday started off very overcast but the arvo turned into a lovely warm day. I was quite pleased with my “repair” of the tray liner yesterday. That 3M double sided tape sticks like the proverbial shit the a blanket.
This morning was the usual coffee and cake meeting which was very enjoyable.
Not sure what today has in store for me but it will involve looking for the remains of the double sided tape which has vanished.
I was packing up and remember putting the tape roll back in the plastic bag it came in and I thought I put it back in the small box it came in. When I finished clearing I took it, some masking tape, metho and a pair for scissors back to the house. I discovered the tape was not in the box. I have searched everywhere for it but it has mysteriously disappeared.
Neighbours invited me in for coffee yesterday and I told them about having trouble receiving calls on my phone, K took my phone, fiddled about with it and now I can receive calls! I have no idea what he did but I am grateful as it saves me a trip to a repair shop!
Good morning - I still will have to lead my isolated life today (Covid) but I’m trying to keep standards up and I’m doing the clothes washing. About 3 lots of it I estimate. Must try and keep on top of that a bit more.
I am such a woman; the first thing I thought of when I saw your photo @Bruce was that you were showing us a cast iron camping griddle. Great work though, nonetheless.
Good news on the phone, Sheila!
It’s a chilly start once again today…too cold to run (not really) in the morning and too dark in the afternoon. The suffering is real here in Florida standard time :cold_face :.
Finally working out the insurance claim for Hurricane Sally that hit us five years ago, after which the insurance company went belly up. Another board member and I are spending he day working on supporting documents, and tomorrow we finally mediate with the state for a payout. I am as nervous as a devil in church about the proceedings , but I’m also confident they owe us for all the repairs. Insurance…atttorneys…adjusters…and courtrooms, oh my!
Other than that, I taking my daughter to a consultation to have her chest port removed. I’m thrilled she can say farewell to a reminder of the hell that she went through for twelve years, but all she is thinking about is getting to wear strapless dresses. Either way, it’s appointment that we are happy about.
Good afternoon everyone, I had the same thought @Surfermom, before reading Bruce’s post!
Still very warm for the time of year, even though it’s a bit cloudy today with light rain. Lots of mosquitoes still around because of these high temperatures, we won’t be rid of them yet. I don’t care really, the longer the mild weather continues, the better!
Lots of fun this morning at my keep-fit class, we all completely lost coordination during a particular work-out sequence we were following! One thing’s for sure, something definitely changes in our motor abilities once we cross the half-century milestone!
I have always been in two minds about the plastic on the tailgate because without it the surface is completely flat but with it there are only four flat spots for putting a cup.
Your efficiency in space, use, quality, and expense ever amazes me, Bruce. This is a great setup!
When I was sixteen and moved back to Kansas from California, I loved how the kids would back up their trucks at the drive-in movie theater and congregate around the tailgates. Sadly for them, there were no cup holders to prop up their (illegal) beer.
We had a local drive-ins when I first moved to Wollongong with my first wife (it is now an over 50s community - all three have long since closed). My kids loved it, we had a Holden HK station wagon at the time and sometimes I would reverse up the ramp so we could all watch the movie lying in the back with the tailgate down.
When I bought an HJ sedan we had no choice but to drive in forwards but the kids would sit in the front (bench seat) and my ex missus and I moved to the back.
I miss the drive-ins very much - best way to watch a movie.
