The usual bit of tidying & pottering & coffee drinking so far, but I have work to do!
I’m continuing the repair of a leather jacket, and will be putting a new zip into it
I’m going to do that by hand sewing with the saddle stitch
It will be slow but steady, and I’ll spread the work over the next 2 or 3 days
Also I am eating out of the fridge & freezer so I can give it, and the corner of the kitchen where it lives, a thorough clean & tidy & defrost
But that will take a while as It’s fairly full at the moment
Morning campers - the temperature is already 27degrees here in rural Warwickshire, and is expected to reach 30 in a few hours, so my garden will have to wait for a tidy until later this evening.
The good thing about the weather, from a gardener’s point of view - no need to cut the grass because there is no grass to cut, but i would prefer to see the lush green grass again, and that goes for the sheep as well!
My walk into town will also have to wait until tomorrow as there is no shelter from the sun along the route, so it can get very uncomfortable.
Good day everyone…
A nice cool 27ºC at mid day, I think all the very hot weather is down south.
It was about 20ºC at 7:00am this morning as I led out for my walk. Just a steady one this morning with only some essential running (the bits along the main road where I sprint to the entrance to the lane, and again as I leave the lane further down, both bits are about 100 Mts long)
Half way round I realised that I had forgotten to pick up my prescription request form, I pass by the surgery on my walk. So it meant I had to go back after I finished my walk.
I decided to take my bike, it was February since I last rode it, so after pumping up the tyres and some quick lubrication on the chain I zoomed off.
It felt really good to be riding, so I delivered the prescription and took the long way round the scenic route 5 miles…I think I’ll incorporate some riding on my rest days in future.
It’s about 33 degrees down here, not a hint of breeze, all the grass is the colour of straw! Chilli jnr has been out picking delicious wild blackberries, he’s braver than I am!
Hi, evening all
It’s been another scorcher here 28°, everywhere is very dry and dusty , Southsea rose garden looks very sad. It’s usually a blazer colour with velvety green lawns .
