Good Morning Monday, 24th August 2026

Good morning wonderful people, it is Monday and we are still here. The weather is supposed to get in the mid 20s today so another lovely spring day but rain is forecast for tomorrow.

Coffee and cake this morning which was well attended and very enjoyable.

On the way home I called into the supermarket for those Fun Packs of breakfast cereal to take with me on my upcoming trip. Slowly the things I need to take are coming together where ever we end up going.

Anyway enjoy the beginning of the new week.

Take care…

Hi Bruce and all who follow.

Once again, I really enjoyed reading your post about your day and your soon to be adventure.

I had a visit from the Hospital at Home Team yesterday, but they are now known as a Virtual Ward.

I am being looked after by a Hospital Consultant, not a GP.

I have had an interesting life, and have the scars to prove it.

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner who came to see me yesterday was an Expert in inflicting pain, she knew exactly where to press and could easily have been in the Spanish Inquisition

I am not exactly a wimp when it comes to pain, she was an expert.

We might have words today.

Have a great day all.

Good morning to all the good people on here…

Just come back from my daily walk and pleased to see the swans are still about in the nearby waterway. The canada geese appear to have left, but the lack of rain has severely emptied the waterway and I’m wondering how the fish are going to cope with it. To make matters worse, it’s overgrown with algae which is pulling the oxygen out the water and the whole area has been allowed to overgrow. Its all owned by English Heritage who have done nothing to upkeep it.

Besides all that, “Mrs G” is down with a heavy cold. On our cruise, we did a coach trip from Greenock to Edinburgh and this guy sat behind this was constantly coughing and sneezing without use of hanky, just blowing his germs everywhere, which the wife caught and is now in bed full of it. Although yesterday she managed to find the strength to go to the local shopping outlet centre and pick up a new handbag from a shop that’s closing down

As for me, I dare say I’m going to be acting nurse until she feels better - and going through my holiday snaps.

Have a great day all…

:mask: :coffee: :+1:

Morning everyone

Pleased to hear your wife is feeling well enough for a little retail therapy @Graham :grinning:

After a very pleasant weekend, it’s back to reality, and waiting for the arrival of some more workman to sort out the bathroom - better to get it done and dusted before the winter sets in.
The evenings have been feeling quite chilly this last week, a reminder that autumn is not to far away.
Still i’m sure we’ll have some more lovely sunny days yet to come.

Hope all have a good day - bye for now.

The bigger the discounts, the better she feels.

Afternoon all,

I hope your day is going well, I’ve just got in from work and shopping on the way home

Hope Mrs G makes a speedy recovery Graham, how inconsiderate of your fellow traveller, I wonder how many others picked up his germs….

Very windy but still sunny, so the breeze is quite pleasant

Enjoy the rest of the day

Dry, sunny, warm but not too hot

Went into town this morning to get a mini statement and shopping at Holland & Barret for nuts & seeds

Swimmy, I’m sure you’ll choose exactly the right words to give her a bit of a sting, too. I’ll be available if she needs a small slap just to get her attention. Gently, of course.
