Good morning all after another warm humid night, never dropped below 21° outside.
No walk this morning, it was Cake and Coffee morning our missing member is still waiting for the ramp to be built for easy access to her house.
On the way home I called into the PO to buy an international Registered Envelope to send off my old British passport and birth certificate to Corby in the UK where the passport office is. I wonder if I will ever see them again?
The lady in the PO said that I would get info about every move it makes in Australia but only its delivery in the UK apparently Royal Mail doesn’t have the scanning facilities that Australia Post does. (that’s what I was told)
@Bruce Your dates look absolutely delicious. I’m also someone who enjoys eating them and I know they’re very beneficial, although I’m not really a big fan of very sweet foods.
In Thailand nowadays, quite a lot of people grow dates. We can choose to eat them either fresh or fully ripe.
I just got back from a road trip in the mountains. The weather was really nice.
I spent five days traveling in total. What I loved the most was the hot spring. I actually went down into the pool to swim, and I felt that the itchy rash I used to have from a skin allergy completely disappeared.
On the way back, I drove alone from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. I stopped for a massage along the way and visited another hot spring. The mountain scenery was beautiful, and I could see hill tribe villages. I also stopped to buy some local products at very reasonable prices.
It might be a long time before I take a trip like this again because I felt quite tired from driving so much. But it was still fun meeting new people along the way.
A bit of sun shining through today, although some grey clouds are massing, could be rain later. Dropping the wife off to the gym later, probably some shopping after. May even get my camera out if the weather holds off. Can’t really add much more than that.
Good Morning from a sunny South Yorkshire…
A bit cooler than yesterday with a brisk North West breeze just keeping the goose pimples on the legs until I passed through a break in the hedgerow and a warm sunny bit shining through.
I’m having to take the longer route on my walk because Moor lane is flooded…
It only adds about a ¼ mile to the walk, but rather than the quiet and peaceful Moor lane, I have to stay on the road past the factory’s with lorries thundering past.
I have walked some flooded and muddy paths in the past, but this was just too much, and there was another flooded bit just around the corner.
Waiting for a call from my daughter to tell me her car is ready for collection so with the garage being about ½ mile from here, I’ll pick it up and drive it the ten miles across town to her place.
She’ll be due at work soon so will probably have to walk again…
Specialist cleaners have been this morning, got rid of most of the smoke damage to the bathroom and hall, landing and stairs, remarkable, fast, amazing chemicals, but plastic bath will have to be replaced etc.
Not bad for a fiver, won’t be using it very often so I was reluctant to splash out on anything too technical.
Roll on that Sunny weather on Wednesday, a trip to the seaside in the pipeline!
Good afternoon everyone, better not speak too soon but this is the second day running with no rain! Nice and sunny but a cold, strong wind.
A bit of rotten luck during the weekend, I came down with a stomach virus with a fever too, right when I was supposed to go for a lunch out with son and daughter for my son’s birthday which had been last week. Now my daughter’s gone back to Verona , she was only here for a short weekend break so we’ll just have to postpone until Easter when she’s back home again.
Italy has been quite busy at the moment, now the Olympics are over, tomorrow night is the start of the music event of the year - Sanremo festival. Rumor has it that Lady Gaga could be a special surprise guest? Just have to wait and see.
Wishing everyone a good teatime, I may have some tea in a moment, with biscuits.
