Good morning fellow denizens of forumland. Another sunny but cool winter’s day, at least the shortest day of the year has now come and gone, only the two coldest months of the year to get through (July/August) and I will miss one of them. When I return it will be straight into planning the Oodnadatta Track trip.
Not much to tell you this morning, no walk because of coffee and cake morning which was sparsely attended today, two of our number missing due to legal and health matters, but it was nice sitting outside in the sun chatting.
Spent most of the morning moving my potted plants to a place behind the car port where they get the rain from the carport roof but are sheltered from direct sunlight except briefly in the morning (my theory is that it stops the pots drying out).
Supposed to get a few mm of rain this week but not holding out much hope, poured a bucket of water over my Chilli plants as they were looking a bit too dry, they are probably used to tropical wetness.
Cancer doctor tomorrow, while I am in the CBD will get a few hundred pound sterling for when I arrive in the UK.

I have not posted here for a little while for various reasons, mostly because I’ve been busy with something I’ve been working on - but now I’m back, at least for the time being.
It’s hot here on the south coast. Boiling hot in the middle of a heat wave which looks like its going to get even hotter in the next few days. Wandered down to the seafront yesterday, not even a breeze in the air. Need to finish weeding my drive, but it’s simply too hot to do anything.
May go out later to take the wife to the gym and pick her up later. Time for an iced coffee…

Cloudy but dry & warm, though not as hot as the forecasts … or perhaps that’s just me?
I haven’t Posted for about a week - no special reason, there just hasn’t been much happening
That’s because I’ve been feeling strangely weak & tired - nothing serious, just a lack of energy & enthusiasm for doing anything much
I tried making another knife but hardly got started till I made a mistake - drilled a hole slightly off centre and couldn’t be bothered to start again, so just put the bits back in the cupboard
Tried finishing a part read book but only managed a few pages
Haven’t been to the Men’s Shed for days
I did do some shopping though, but over estimated, so now I’m trying to eat a load of salads & other veg before it all goes off on me
My Tai chi has slipped too, but I picked it up again this morning, and I’ll go for a walk later
Morning all – a hot sunny start to the day – temperatures forecast to reach 30s!
I was due to meet a friend tomorrow but she rang last night to cancel as the temperatures are forecast to reach around 38c tomorrow! This is the third time our meeting has been cancelled, once because her bus broke down, again when her car broke down and now because of the heat! She is visiting family over the next couple of weeks so we have rearranged for beginning of July – she has promised it will take an earthquake to stop her! So if there is an earthquake in S.W. England you will know who to blame!
Gardener is due today – I did ask if he wanted to cancel because of the heat but he said no because he is going on holiday for 2 weeks and wants to leave the garden looking tidy! I have plenty of ice in the freezer ready to keep him topped up with cold drinks!
I also need to do some grocery shopping and after that I will sit in the garden, under an umbrella, reading my book
I have just cancelled my dentist appointment for Wednesday! My dentist is in the next county (haven’t been able to find one locally) and there are roadworks between here and there so I didn’t fancy sitting in a traffic jam in that heat!
