Good morning on this lovely day (so far), temperatures in the high 20s and few clouds though the forecast is for rain later. While I was away my rain gauge registered 21mm which explains why the grass has gone mad.
I am back in the 'Gong after a speedy and uneventful drive from Canberra, I probably spent 95% of the journey on cruise control. That is how it should be.
Not a lot to say today, driving for three hours is not really newsworthy, my foster dog was out of the car like a shot once he knew where he was and searching for skinks (he never catches them). I think he misses his playmate at my daughter’s already. He bullied her relentlessly even though he is probably a quarter her size, they had a wonderful time together.
The whole weekend was great even if I can’t tell you about the most interesting bits.
Nothing planned for the rest of the day, I thought about doing the laundry but I still have plenty of clean clothes left. Friday is looking good for drying.
Good morning everyone, after a sunny weekend we’re in for a rainy, windy week - from Wednesday we’ll have torrential rain and very, very strong southwest winds which are the worst nightmare for us, out here in the countryside. There’s gonna be a lot of stuff flying around, I’ve stocked away my outdoor chairs, putting the plastic table away today, otherwise if will end up in a neighbour’s front yard .
Wow @Bruce, 95% of the journey on cruise control!! That’s impossible for us, I don’t think anyone’s ever done even 5% before, with all our winding roads/sharp bends all over the territory, .
Morning all – another bright start to the day, although it is definitely getting colder, temperatures forecast to only reach 8c today
Glad you had a safe and uneventful journey home Bruce
As my neighbours are away the birds are all coming into my garden for food – this morning it was like a scene from Hitchcock’s The Birds!
The beast only left me one small gift this morning – but refused to go out. Neighbours tell me I should just put her out but I can’t bring myself to do that!
Good morning - Dry, still and nippy at the moment. Supermarket shopping this morning. First time I’ll have driven the car in weeks. Maybe some work in the garden this afternoon. Not much else to say.
Good morning all, it’s colder than a witches tit here….despite the long johns and the string vest, no doubt that mental image will set the pulses of the ladies here racing. In another time and place I would have been a god.
Good Morning from Foxy’s Gaff…
My morning sneak outside to visit the thermometer dressed in a minimum of clothes sent me scurrying back inside when it read 0 degrees C…
So it’s been the first time this year I had to wear my tracky bottoms on my early morning walk. As it got light it revealed a thick frost on all of the rooftops and frozen paths and puddles…
I’ve been messaged to say that the door handle for Mrs Foxes washing machine has been despatched and is winging it’s way to me via EVRI…So that’ll be tomorrows job.
British Gas have also messaged me to send in my meter readings, so I’ll venture out armed with pen and pad and record the numbers. I suspect the resulting bill will not be a small one due to the fact I have been reckless with energy usage…
Glad to hear you and canine friend have arrived safely back home Bruce, and there were no holdups. I also was surprised to hear that you could use cruise control for the most part of your journey. I use the motorways a lot here (the only place cruise control is possible) but even then it’s not always possible when it’s busty.
Nice to hear that you can get behind the wheel Mart, but don’t overdo it in the garden…
You are a caring lady Sheila, cats usually know what’s best for them, and you paint an interesting picture of the birds assembling outside your house…
It’s heavenly to be at home with the washer and dryer whirring, the fridge stocked, and the dogs back home. Their new kennel is an outstanding setup. The grassy and tree-shaded two-acre property is fenced into sections that accommodate dogs based on their size and energy level. They have supervised access to a zero-entry pool, toys, obstacle courses and a large, well-lit steel barn where they can retreat as they like. In the evening, the dogs are tucked “kennels” that in our case was a room the size of a bedroom. I don’t think my sweet crew wanted to come home .
