Good morning all on another lovely autumn day in the mid to high 20s.
No walk for me this morning, instead I got the laundry done because there could be showers on the way late tomorrow or the day after.
Coffee and cake this morning which was, as always, so enjoyable.
After lunch caught the bus into Wollongong to pick up a camping table from Anaconda. I decided I needed a small table and this one fitted the bill. I quickly set up in the spare room just to try it.
Good Day Bruce and Eliza, and all who follow…
A couple of Groundhog days recently with nothing much happening, except a run out to Cleethorpes on Saturday for lunch at the garden centre. A nice enough day weatherwise with sun showing it’s face occasionally but a biting cold wind so we never even got out of the car as I had a drive past of the sea front after lunch. The sea was so far our we couldn’t see it, but there were some big ships anchored in the mouth of the river Humber waiting to dock at Hull.
I thought sea levels were supposed to be rising…
It seem like diesel is readily available at most places, although 20 pence a litre more expensive than it was a couple of weeks ago. Being retired it doesn’t matter to me because I don’t use that much anyway.
MOT and service on Thursday so I’ll give it a clean and check round, it’s supposed to be getting warmer on Tuesday and Wednesday so I’ll do it then, too cold today for a wuss like me to go out and mess with hosepipes and water…
Monday is Washing Day. A this Man Cave.
Loaded bedding Whites, With a measure of Bleach for freshness.
Alas Black Joggers had been left behind from previous wash.
Result. Bedding. Kind of Cream.
Black Joggers. With Brown stripes, as if Camouflage.
Now I know what is meant by.
“Going Commando”
Good afternoon everyone on a rather grey, cold day down here. Yes, fuel prices are really perturbing us Foxy, where we live we rely on our cars unfortunately, no services or shops within walking distance, no regular bus service. On my way to the gym, I stopped for petrol and noticed yet another rise in the prices , euro1,91 per litre, it’s going to end up at 2 euros soon, that’s for sure, diesel has already hit the 2 euro mark. Only last week petrol was at least 50 cents less! It’s so strange how for so many years we were all buying diesel cars as diesel cost considerably less than petrol.
Obviously fuel prices rising hastily will mean everything else will too.
The good thing is that the warm season is approaching us so at least we will save on home heating costs.
Wishing you all a great start to the week, five more days to Spring and two weeks to time change.
Sorry to hear that Rose, it must be hard for all those who have to drive to work also.
It’s okay for us since we retired, we don’t use the motor for anything too important, a nip out to the coast occasionally, but it is a diesel and costs quite a bit more a litre than petrol, although I wouldn’t swap…
We use it for shopping but Tesco is only about two miles away and at a push I can walk it, or go on my bike with the pannier bags on.
The pannier bags are left over from the Coast to Coast a friend and me did back in 1999
200 miles in three days.
