Good morning all of you friendly forum folks. Another sunny winter’s day for me.
Of course it’s Monday so I had my coffee and cake morning with friends, as always it was lovely catching up. One of them asked about a $400 pensioner bonus supposedly due in June but I hadn’t heard of it so I dashed off an email to my new MP.
On the way home called into the supermarket for some onions, I am making a burger for myself tonight. I had bought some meat patties yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to discover that they were not the usual machine made, flat, thin symmetrical things but actually looked hand prepared (I doubt that they are). I have frozen three and left one in the fridge for tonight. Oh, and I bought some macadamia and caramel ice cream too (couldn’t help myself).
Soon will be out in the garden giving my bits of wood what I hope is their final coat of varnish.
Apart from that the rest of the day is my own. Have a good one.
Good morning all, hope everyone had a good weekend. Yesterday afternoon it looked like a storm was heading our way when I drove my daughter to the station, but luckily it was a false alarm. Her second train from Bologna was expected to be delayed for hours so rather than being stranded at a station all night, she decided to stay the night with a friend who lives there and proceed with her journey early this morning. In the end it was a"cloud with a silver lining "as she was able to attend an open-air cinema event in Bologna, presented by a famous, roman comedy actor (our favourite) .
Sun is trying to come out, looks like clouds are going away, temperatures are normal now, maximum 30/34c which is tolerable, at least. I must get some housework done, I’m just feeling so lazy lately. I think I’ll go and log in to YouTube and follow some morning stretching exercises to give myself an energy boost. I’m not disciplined enough to do them on my own!
Morning all from a boiling hot southern Hampshire.
Not much happening today, apart from taking Mrs G’s car to get serviced and later there’s a family meeting regarding my father-in-law and paying for a carer to deal with his issues.
Good Morning from Foxy’s World…
Got home safe from Wales but had to take the scenic route because two junctions were closed.
Just the ones that we needed…
Off to Whitby with some friends in half an hour for a special occasion…
It’s nice here at the moment but light rain forecast in Whitby.
It’s a long drive so I must be off now, catch you all later…
Morning all – much cooler today, with rain forecast for later
I will actually welcome some rain as my lawn is looking very sorry for itself – I water the planters but I’m afraid the lawn is left to fend for itself!
Had an appointment the other side of the city today but had to cancel. The local authority in their wisdom decided to close 3 main routes in and around the city at the same time for road repairs. Grid-lock everywhere.
Only other plan for today is some grocery shopping
I had an email saying my camera insurance renewal didn’t go through. So first thought “scam”. Not had this before that I remember. Now Eversure insurance co phone number was not easily found as they are mainly an on-line contact company. However I did find a phone number and rang them. The credit card will run out of date end of this month so they needed the new number which was the same, just the security code altered
Could have done this on line, but giving out credit card information can be dodgy to say the least
An unexpected visit from a District Nurse, surprised that we where not expecting her, the we being Shona, one of my helpers who was here.
The Nurse had a different coloured uniform to the normal one district nurses have.
Also surprised that the meds where not here to be injected and that I had no box in the fridge to keep them, neither did I have sharps containers.
My Yellow medical folder was also not up to date.
My mattress on my hospital bed should have been upgraded and I should be having regular care visits from the District Nurses.
Outcome, a head to toe exam, a phone call to my GP regarding Medication, an Air Mattress and secure storage for Meds.
Absolutely brilliant service, the NHS as it used to be and still can.
Thanks @swimfeeders, I’m following an Italian lady who specializes in 'over 50s" exercises, I’d send you the link but it’s all in Italian. There are also English-speaking channels if you take a look.
