Good Morning Friday, 8th November 2024

Good morning Friday Forumers, it is a lovely sunny day with not a cloud in the sky.

I was up early to take the dog for a walk, of course Friday is bin day adding colour and variety to otherwise dull suburban streets as they line up like Daleks waiting to be emptied (as the red ones have)

While I was out my washing machine was busy washing clothes to make use of the sunshine.

Not sure what the rest of the day holds, I made a quick visit to my PO Box to collect a package after a trip to the supermarket to pick up milk and a few odds and ends.

Anyway I am off to give the dog a chicken neck.

Have a lovely November day. Take care

Green for us this week but yellow on the other side of the road, perhaps the council thought that different colours would improve the streetscape?

Green and red every week in Wollongong (because of FOGO) but yellow only once a fortnight. Personally I rarely put the green bin out.

Apart from the bins that road could easily be a road in the UK. No wonder so many brits want to live down under.
Just been blowing up/collecting oak leaves from the back garden ,so many falling at the moment

Morning all – guess what – another dull, grey, damp and overcast day – wish you could send some of that sunshine here Bruce!

Had a nasty surprise yesterday at the coffee get together. It is organised by the local authority who rent the room from the Village Hall Committee and opens from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm, yesterday they announced that, in order to save money, it will only open from 11.00 until mid-day. Huge groan went up from everyone there (it is always packed). As the group I meet don’t get out of their exercise class until 11.30 we are wondering whether to change venue to the café at the local supermarket.

Mentioned that I was looking for a cleaner – and 2 of them immediately volunteered to come and clean for me – told them emphatically that wasn’t happening. I really appreciated the offer but would not feel comfortable having friends cleaning for me!

Tonight is the local organised firework display – they have two displays, one at 6.30 pm and another, bigger one, at 8.00 pm, at least it means they will have finished before I go to bed, although no doubt someone locally will decide to have their own late display!

Take care – have a lovely day everyone

Good Morning from Foxy’s world… :039:
It’s another grey and dark day here too Sheila, but it is also very dry and at 11 degrees C not too cold, and good for the morning rambles along the canal towpath. I noticed the ‘Coffee Boat’ moored up near St Oswalds Church, with tables and chairs on the canal bank. Unfortunately I was too early for a bacon sandwich, and I was doing a stretch of jogging at the time, I probably just appeared as a blur…
I can give it ‘what for’ on a Friday because it’s a rest day tomorrow, but by the time I arrived at the end of the towpath I decided to walk the rest of the way. Sometimes my heart just isn’t in it…

Mrs Fox has just announced that she wants to go out for something to eat, so I’ll take her for an all day breakfast at Tesco…It’s not our local one cos they don’t have a restaurant, it’s about ten miles away so I can charge my phone on the way…I usually charge my phone in the car, and I go for a long drive if it gets flat. That’s my excuse anyway…

Good afternoon - Grey and very still today. Right in the middle of a settled high pressure.

Our daughter is arriving today. Our son arrived yesterday. Grandchildren arriving tomorrow. They aren’t staying here. Another son who lives nearby is accommodating them.

I normally pick up our daughter from the railway station but It’s not a good idea for me to drive at the moment, so she says he will walk it. A little over a mile I’d say. Once here, she is on our car insurance, so transport for all.

Good of them all to make the journeys. I always say there is no need to make a fuss over birthdays, even milestone ones but they often do.

Haven’t seen the two grandchildren who are coming for ages.

Have a good day.

I’d forgotten about that named driver business in UK car insurance, my insurance covers any licensed driver, the only difference is, in the event of an accident, the excess can vary depending on their age, however there is no one under 21 or even 30 likely to drive my car so it isn’t a worry.

I’d forgotten about that too, every time there was a storm in the Pacific my son was off with his surfboard to check out the surf. Surfing was his school sport too

Unlike my daughter who started off with canoeing and netball as her school sport(s) until she was about 16/17 when she discovered that snooker was held at the local licensed club! I was a bit cross.
