Good Morning Friday, 7th March 2025

Good morning one and all. It is a bit damp at the moment sitting, as I am, between the cyclone to the north and a high to the south. They have combined to stream warm wet air off the ocean onto the coast. I received 5 mm last night but it will increase dramatically over the weekend.

Been busy, after my walk I rang my daughter to say I am not visiting, then got stuck into stripping the camper “kitchen” ready for a coat or three of varnish. The contents are stored in the garage.

I suddenly realised that May and my Darwin trip is less than 2 months away so I had to get stuck in!

My 3D printer has been hard at it too, set it off yesterday arvo, it finished at 5am printing a new remote control holder for the camper. Not very elegant but functional.

Anyway, that is my day so far, what are you up to? What ever it is have a good one.

Take care…

It’s Thursday evening and it’s been quite a day. Just as I was reading about everyone’s morning, the phone rang and it was my neighbor suffering with symptoms of a myocardial infarction. She had managed to call the emergency line, 911, but she is a widow, so I followed the ambulance to the hospital. It’s been long hours calling family members and acting as her advocate, but she’s finally stable and I am back home.

I hope you all had a very nice Thursday and Friday promises to be a fine day for everyone!

See you in a few hours!

Good morning all

@Bruce looks like you have your work load for a couple of days , May will be here soon enough , the weeks seem to be flying by .

@Surfermom What a good neighbour you are , Im pleased for the Lady that she got help when she needed it and the day ended well for her .

My Echo yesterday might not have given good photos , and I was told I may have to have a T.O.E. which is a probe down the throat to get a better look . Not something to look forward to so , so im keeping fingers crossed on that .

Im off to have my Hair done this morning , I usually do the cutting myself , but im having it styled differently.

Wishing everyone a happy day .

Ha ha, I think it will take me more than a couple of days  but at least it is under cover and it is still lovely and warm out.

That was good of you.

Good morning!
Dull, cloudy & drizzly

I had a good time at the Men’s Sheds meeting yesterday, chatting, picking up advice, and had invitations to visit a couple of local Sheds

Nothing much planned for today, and I’m not feeling very lively, so I’ll just stay in and read my book

Another relaxed (lazy) day at the Fox’s today, offered an arm full of blood at the surgery yesterday early on, but they only took one little vial to check for uric acid apparently.
I wasn’t sure about driving so my daughter donned her chauffeurs hat and all was well.
Some improvement today (I can actually bend my knee a bit and raise my foot six inches from the ground) but not good enough for a short walk yet.
Warm (10 degrees C) and sunny spells, its killing me not to be out and exploring the woods and lanes, perhaps I’ll get me chair out and sit in the sun and get the legs brown and ready for action. With all this muscle wastage there’s going to be a lot of work to do.

As busy as ever @Bruce I don’t know where you get your energy.
Well done @Surfermom you probably saved her life…or at least lessened her burden…Hope she makes a good and speedy recovery.
:+1:
Will we still recognise you @Eliza if you are having a makeover?
You have a great social life @zuludog, they have a Men’s club on a Friday here in one of the halls, I’ve been threatening to go for a while now.

just back frolm Spec Savers after having my ears cleared out from a wax build up. The right ear was the worst. lets now hope the family don’t keep saying I am deaf

Good calm morning from Florida!

My neighbor is still in the hospital for multiple stent replacements and her daughter is arriving shortly. I’ll head over to the hospital shortly to make sure they both have what they need for what’s likely a multiple day hospitalization. I was happy to be in place when needed. It’s what we do, isn’t it!

@Bruce, I like the way you have all of the supplies needed for several days camping reduced to such efficiency. That must be really satisfying. As for the 3D printer, I still don’t quite have my head wrapped around it, but your remote holder is spiffy.

@Zulu, I really like the idea of your Men’s shed. You’ll have to let us know how it goes!

@Elizabeth, you made me laugh about your hair styling; I seem to get to the salon somewhere between repainting the house and digging up the backyard. I hope you can bypass that TOE!

@Realspeed, I don’t know Spec Savers in my part of the world, but that’s some kind of one-stop shopping to have ear treatment and an optometry practice!

@OGF, most wise of you to turn the wheel over to your daughter for a few days. You’d might as well enjoy the relaxation as it never lasts for long…

With retirement lasting a whopping three months before he decided that being in the air is better than being on the ground, Captain Surfermom flew in after midnight last night having accepted a new corporate flying job. He seems to like it, saying he feels like he’s flying a sports car, but alas, this late arrival meant that a certain someone was up at two in the morning, wearing a nightgown and a frightening case of bed head, to prepare a full-on dinner for the winged Jackie Stewart. Life is never on an ordinary schedule around this house; that’s for sure.

My son also showed up late last night (but at a more reasonable hour of eleven and content with a sandwich) to help with some outdoor work this morning. We’ve been in the yard trimming deadwood and a mountain of leaves and stems. I am mourning some of the plants I have been babying for years - bird of paradise, ti, crotons, and plumeria - that are all slumped over with freeze burn. Ever hopeful, I’ve been cutting them to the ground in hopes they might come back. Will see!

Alright, I am off battle nature, armed with my little hedge cutter.

Have a happy start to the weekend!

Use it or lose it I fear OGF. Glad to hear the gout is improving, must be awful.

It is still a work in progress even though I have had the camper for 9 years. My daughter has a trailer with a tent on the top, goes camping a lot (but does a lot more cooking than me) in remote areas and had this brilliant idea using a Bunning’s technicians case for some of the food and utensils. I copied the idea but on my Jindabyne trip found in practice it was a damn nuisance having food and some utensils in different places so I will have to find another use for that case.

Danger, danger, Will Robinson! - Bird of Paradise took over part of my garden, in the end I attacked it with a mattock to get rid of it because it was pushing the path aside in its march for ever more acreage - almost as bad as bamboo.
