Good Morning Friday, 5th June 2026

Good morning fellow travellers in this social media world of ours.

Yet another cold, winter’s morning, only 11° when I set out for my walk this morning, I wandered past the place where the flying foxes used to be but absolutely no sign of them any more.

During the night I was actually thinking of getting up to make a hot water bottle, I wasn’t cold but I wasn’t overheating either. Definitely a hot water bottle tonight.

After that rain in May we are slowly getting back to the point where rain would be welcome again, the ground is not dry yet but getting that way.

I have cut up those few extra chillies that I harvested and they are in my dryer at the moment, I am hoping that they will be dry enough to grind up before I set off for Canberra on Sunday.

Slowly packing for that four day trip, I have a list and am slowly working through it. Also have another suitcase for my UK trip but that is less urgent. Will be taking my hot water bottle with me to Canberra it gets close to freezing there at night.

Anyway that is my day so far, haven’t seen OGF on these pages recently I hope he is OK.

Have a good one, looking forward to the weekend you workers?

Take care…

Good morning all!:sun_behind_small_cloud:

The rainy spell has passed, at least for the time being… hurrah!
I’ll be taking the opportunity to venture outdoors and get some ‘stuff’ done while the sun is shining
I’ll be taking the beast out with me

Rock solid old school! The only pain in the neck is that the light meter within starts running the battery down as soon as the lens cap is removed, something to bear in mind!

Friday is mohawk day so first port of call is the Turkish Barbershop over the road. They excel in precision haircuts so once again I’ll be getting the sides of my bonce clipped and then completely shaved with a salon quality electric razor! Hot towel and cologne to finish :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve just ordered a roll of this

Old school monochrome film, lots of latitude, nice grain and can comfortably be pushed to 1600 ISO
I’m planning a day trip just mooching around various parts of London in a week or so, this particular film will be really useful. Probably starting with The East End, Stepney, Whitechapel, Bethnal Green etc, all rich in history!

Might pop into my CAMRA local for a chat, live music there tomorrow afternoon too! :sunglasses::+1::guitar:

Have a great Friday people!:v::blossom:

I am surprised you don’t develop the film yourself, all you need is a changing bag, an accurate thermometer and a 35mm developing tank. I doubt that they are expensive secondhand (never looked). 35mm is a doddle to load, it basically just winds in. Some of the bigger formats were a bugger.

Was never keen on Kodak film though I can’t remember why, I do vaguely remember Tri-X.

Yeah, it’s certainly something to consider Bruce, don’t you need an enlarger too? I will look into it at some point, sending film to processers can be expensive but convenient. I’ll have to do the maths!:+1:

An enlarger is nice of course but processors will still print your negatives and you don’t waste money on dodgy prints.

You could make your own contact prints just to see what you have got, you don’t need an enlarger for that just a light, a sheet of glass, chemicals, timer (phone?) and packet of paper but you would need three/four chemical trays. The trouble is once you start where do you stop?

Yes, this is the thing isn’t it?
I’ll have to buy one of those old fashioned things called a book and do some reading up on the subject

Good morning all

Feels cool out there no sun yet to warm things up .I look forward to seeing Photos of
London. Ive got a few of when I went on day trips , around St Pauls ,Kensington ,and I think it was The Dorchester Hotel , a rich Arab family came out and they had Gold painted Vehciles, caused quite a fuss , with passers by stopping ,they allowed a young boy to take photos and actually sit inside one .
The concert went well last night , my next one is in a couple of weeks .

Have a good day all .

Good morning!
Mixed cloud & sunshine, a bit damp, cold

Men’s Shed this morning
I’ll tidy the living room this afternoon, which will then give me the weekend free

I’ll also sort & pick through my hoarded collection of wood and select something for a knife handle, I haven’t made one for ages

Morning all – overcast again!

I finally got through on the phone to the local authority about the uncollected recycling who promised it would be picked up yesterday – it wasn’t. As it hasn’t been collected for 3 weeks I think the food waste may soon become a health hazard! I will try to contact them again this morning.

Plans for today are housework this morning and, if I feel up to it, go to the community café at the local church this afternoon.

Take care – have a good day

Thanks for the mention Bruce, been having battery trouble on my laptop. I’m at the point where it’s either a new battery or a new laptop, it’s 9 year old now.
