Good morning everyone on yet another lovely spring day.
Went out early to get milk and a few odds and ends from the supermarket. Once I returned home I plugged the fridge in my car into the mains to cool it down. It is quite amazing how quickly it cools even empty. Once it was down to 2° I filled it with beer, cheese, milk, marg and some liquorice bullets (can’t resist them).
Basically the car is ready for the off to Canberra tomorrow morning, everything is loaded either in the car or the camper. Every battery is fully charged ready to leave.
I will probably spent the arvo calling in on a couple of friends to say hello and goodbye before I leave as well as watering my potted plants and hoping that they survive while I am away.
Yes I am pretty excited. It should be an interesting trip if it comes off, it is one I have tried 3 or 4 times before over a couple of decades but the track was closed each time because of rain.
Just come back from my daily walk and the heavens opened as I was halfway round and came home completely soaked. Not much going on today apart from take the wife to see her therapist. Afrerwards, get something to eat somewhere (don’t care where as long as they have coffee!). Back home and see if I can book some time in a photo studio for later in the month. There is a summer fayre nearby, but it could be a washout by the weekend, so not sure on that.
How long will you be away @Bruce
I usually put all my houseplants in the bath and leave them to stand in a little water - not too much though.
Morning everyone from a wet and soggy (but humid)Warwickshire.
Not a very exciting day as i’m expecting a couple of deliveries, so i can’t go out, otherwise they’ll leave the parcels on the doorstep in the rain.
Then later on, the plumber is coming to put some finishing touches to the bathroom, so while i’m waiting will tackle the huge pile of ironing that i’ve been trying to ignore for ages.
Not sure exactly how long probably until nearly the end of the month. I don’t have bath I am afraid, got rid of it years ago, just a walk in shower.
That is nice of you to say so SF. This is the first one I have done with my daughter by herself. I enjoy travelling with the kids (they are nearly in their 40s now), we have been to Uluru, all of us and a couple of friends, and couple of years ago went to Camerons Corner - the point where SA, NSW and Qld borders meet.
My daughter has just finished building herself a camper van out of a 4WD Mitsubishi Delicia, I made the panels for the electrical system switches on my 3D printer - this is the big test for it.
We will probably visit Mount Gambier on the way back. Interesting place full of sink holes, she has never been before.
It seems to work well. So far i’ve never lost a plant using this method, but i never stay away from home for longer than a week at a time, so i don’t know how successful it would be for longer holidays.
… suppose I might as well do some personal grooming.
