Good Morning Friday, 29th May 2026

Good morning all, only a few days of Autumn left, winter is coming (on Monday).

Today is the last of the rain, 15mm overnight and overcast on my walk though it didn’t rain and now, as it nears midday, the sun is out, 22° today according to the forecast. No matter, I am warm in my cardigan.

Lots of Corellas and Galahs feeding on the grass near the highway, I presume the wet makes edible things come to the surface.

I ended up carrying my jacket toward the half way stage of my walk but there is nothing like a sewer vent to enhance the beauty of nature.

I expect that the sun will start to dry out the grass soon so I can get out in the garden, the wet soil will make getting out the dandelions so much easier.

Ironically the the good weather on the weekend means that it will actually be cooler with the temperature only getting up to 20° but at least I will be able to get my washing done and on the line.

Have a good one. Looking forward to the weekend?

Take care…

Good morning all!:sun_behind_rain_cloud:

Well, the heatwave has passed, it’s still warm but there’s a gentle fresh breeze and drizzle forecast for later. I think I might go and stand out in it for just a little while by way of celebration!

I’m going to be trying something a bit different for a late breakfast today. I’ve been using this rye bread for a little while now, absolutely delicious it is too. Robust, full of flavour, you actually feel like you’ve eaten something unlike that joyless cotton wool excuse for a sliced loaf! :slightly_frowning_face:

I’m sure it’d stand up nicely to mashed avocado on toast!
Topped with a little sliced cherry tomato, a tad of seasoning, and the merest squeeze of lemon :lemon:
I’m probably going to garnish with a little finely chopped celery leaf!

Which reminds me, must order some mustard and cress seeds from Amazon!

Enjoy a cooler day people! :sunglasses::v::+1:

Looks as if it is going to be another hot day today although it did tend to cool off a bit yesterday evening.
Smeone is arriving today around midday to have a look at what needs doing to the broken conservatry glass roof panel. as shown below

Good morning all

I woke at 5ish went and watered the garden , then I showered , then tackled the ironing ,washed yesterdays dishes , put some Chicken thighs in the slow cooker for later, and moved the dust around , before giving up and getting the Mr Sheen out .

All my chores are done for the day!. I bought some Seeded Deli rolls in my on line shop yesterday , they were really nice I filled them with Salad , there was that many different seeds on the Bun , its a wonder I wasn’t Chirping .

Weather wise its a lot cooler which is why I got so much done ,Have a Happy day all. :parrot: :parrot:

You are so well organised Eliza, I feel I have achieved something just sorting out the washing and getting it done. At least it should dry quickly this weather.

No, 1st May is the first day of winter though the temperature will still be in the low 20s if the forecast is right.

I just make do with a fan heater on the few days it is really cold.

I have been buying wholemeal bread since my 20s and white bread, to me, looks like there is something wrong with it on the rare occasion I have a roll with my meal in a restaurant.

I never put mine away, however my dogs do love that when its on.

Afternoon all – dull start to the day with some rain but now bright sunshine.

Today started badly when the pop-up plug in my wash basin got stuck in the down position, next I was late leaving the house for my hairdresser appointment when a neighbour stopped me and wanted to chat about their upcoming holiday – had to cut him short, got the car parked and was walking to the hairdresser when it started to rain, finally when I got to the hairdresser I found I had left my book at home so was faced with spending 1 ½ hours either staring at myself in the mirror, staring at the floor or looking out the window at passing traffic – alternated between the last two! I am now trying to find the number of the plumber who helped me last year!

Take care – hope everyone else is having a better day than me!

It happens to us all from time to time, do you chat to the hairdresser ? I love to chat but of course if they are quite young that can be difficult. I hate to be late for any appointment which often leads to panic at times.

Yes I do chat to the hairdresser but I was having highlights done so she was off dealing with another client while they were “setting”!
