Good morning all on this last day of summer. However you would never know that it was - it is 33° in my garden after a somewhat humid night. BOM predicts March is going to be a warm one.
This busy morning thing is becoming a trend. I went for my morning walk followed by a quick visit to the supermarket for milk, cheese and other odds and ends. After getting this stuff home I walked down to the Vietnamese bakery for a dozen wholemeal rolls to put in the freezer.
While this was going on my washing machine was busy doing my laundry and bedding.
After putting the washing on the line drove to Bunnings for some chainsaw files, varnish and M4 nuts. It’s all go…
Now all that remains to be done is get my recycling bin in from the kerb and hopefully relax for the rest of the day.
Oh BTW, a little factoid, Cyclone Alfred currently off the Australian coast heading south was supposed to be called Cyclone Anthony (BOM have a list) BUT that is the name of our PM and this is an election year so it was decided by BOM to call it Alfred instead to prevent the poor old cyclone being embroiled in politics. The cyclone is a fair way off the coast and modelling can’t accurately predict its course but it looks like it will diminish in intensity and just become and East Coast Low as it hits cooler waters.
Well, have a lucky Friday and look forward to the weekend (those still working)
According to the local weather we are having Sun all day today , and temp is going to be 10c ,
Im going to be washing Plant pots out and another tidy of the Green House in readiness of my plug plants in 3 weeks time .
This evening I will be going to town for the light Show .
Morning all – cold and frosty start to the day but the sun is shining and no rain forecast!
Just reading all that makes me feel tired Bruce!
Remembered the meet up with the girls yesterday (maybe I will delay booking into a home for the bewildered after all!) Coffee, cake and laughter – what’s not to like!
Dinner last night was very enjoyable – good food and great company
I think the birds are getting used to me! Usually when I put out the bird food they fly off into the trees – this morning they stayed lined up on the wall and were on the food almost before I got back indoors!
Not much planned for today – laundry and housework
It’s promising that Earth is now on that middle part of the orbit that will give us all more reasonable weather. We are still three weeks away, but the buds on the trees and the ginger stalks are saying enough is enough with all this weather.
This is sanding and priming day. I am back to sanding my mom’s coffee table that I started several week ago and have decided that the breakfast bar stools could use a fresh coat too. If there is any time left over, I’m going to start trimming all the winter deadwood and leave.
Late afternoon here and a tiring and interesting day.
Not a good night for me and first arrival was my Techie Lady Carer.
My Blink system is now fully working and she has linked it in to Alexa, a brilliant job,she had a great sense of achievement and of her ability to explain it to an idiot like me.
I thanked her profusely, a state of happiness which disappeared when I presented her with the big outdoor Blink lights and Camera system I had got at a bargain price, for her to install.
Her face was a picture.
Second Carer came for 4 hours, took me into my back garden, standing water up to 4 inches deep, so that was that.
The walk down the garden was very challenging for me, so ended up laying down on heavy doses of Morphine.
The Post arrived.
I am a serious falls risk, been provided with a Falls Alarm at no Cost, because I have heart failure it even remotely connects to the NHS Call Centre if my chest has not moved foe a set time.
It is being stopped, I will now have to pay for it after the end of March.
Good evening good folks. Been quite busy day for us. First was the early wee dog. Then we had the tech for oven with a fault. Then we had the meat man - much better than we get with Tesco/Sainsbury’s. Then EVRI. Then another stroll with the canine. Then we went to the One Stop Shop for a few items. How/why did we do that when we worked full time job??
I remember when I lived in England feeding the birds was common. Here they don’t recommend it at all and feeding any native animals is frowned upon. It is generally not a good diet for them and they can get dependent on it to the point some birds can get aggressive when not fed. They don’t attack humans but they will tear your window frames and eaves apart.
Just when I think I am keeping busy you raise busy to a whole new level!
I am assuming Blink is a brand name for a security system. I installed a couple of Eufy cameras in my house. Never used to worry about my house when I was away but lately, for no good reason, it preys on my mind so now now matter where I am, as long as there is a phone signal or wifi I can see the two living rooms in my house. Made me much happier
It records to one of my NAS devices as well as a memory card - I could control it with my Google Mini but I think that is rather over egging the pudding.
