Good morning to you all as the weekend looms large.
What a difference a day makes, yesterday we did indeed have a storm in the afternoon but it was a warm storm. Today it is bloody freezing! Only 18°, I had to find my cardigan before I could go out, some polar blast swept up to central NSW and dropped temperatures nearly 10°. Storm force winds are predicted for this arvo, 11 metre waves on the coast, not happy Jan.
Didn’t go for my walk this morning anyway because it was raining. It finally stopped about 9am but by then I felt too cold so it was just a very quick trip to the supermarket for essentials. I was shocked to see the fuel price up 10 cents from yesterday (mind you weekend coming up of course) and this is not the cheapest servo in the area.
A fairly cool and cloudy day here in southern Hampshire, may brighten later. A few things going on today. Firstly the dreaded dental check-up, followed by coffee then take wife to chiropractor. After that is time to give my wallet an appendectomy and pay for our cruise in August. Then I have to jiggle my remaining pennies for the upcoming fiscal year with a nice man who wants me to have a savings ISA. If all that wasn’t enough, I have a chance to book a photo shoot with a model in period costume, whilst getting ready for another studio shoot on Sunday. Maybe when I’ve done with all that, I’ll get my daily walk in and check up on the local swans and geese.
The new electric fire was due to be installed today - received a text at 8.00 am to say they wouldn’t be coming as a job had over-run and they will contact me on Monday! I understand these things happen but I wish they had contacted me BEFORE I moved the bookcase!
The plan for today was to have the fire fitted and then put the bookcase and other furniture back in place – not sure what to do now!
Why do some people have the music in their cars blasting! A young man parks his car opposite my house – when he arrives around 4.00pm he sits in his car for some time with the music so loud it drowns out my radio. Then in the morning he gets in his car around 7.00 am and again sits there with the music blaring – I no longer need an alarm clock as he wakes me up!
I have a similar situations with inconsiderate car owners @SheilaP , opposite me and next door , so one comes home at midnight music up loud and the one next door as his radio on full in a morning before going to work , and sits there or when its frosty , scrapping the ice off his windows .
Im seeing a Orchestra playing this evening , Im getting a lift there and back which means I won’t be getting wet in these heavy showers .
Good Morning Everyone…
Rain from start to finish on this mornings walk but at least it wasn’t cold…9º C
Sorry Bruce, 18ºC ? That’s our summer temperature…
Still managed to keep to the 4.5 mile walk despite the rain, It wasn’t too bad once I got going.
Off for a haircut soon, it will be over a year since my last one and was beginning to look like Ken Dodd…
Banging music in cars is the pits, I look at the driver staring haplessly out of the window and they resemble somebody in a hypnotic trance…
