Good Morning Friday, 22nd August 2025

Good morning one and all, still overcast and grey but much warmer today, I went out in a cardigan, no coat.

Just returned from my seniors’ lunch at the club, always a bit of a fun occasion and it all went well, lovely food and good company.

Was out early buying a gift for the raffle, couldn’t decide so I bought a $10 Coles voucher and a bar of Turkish Delight.

When I took the rain reading I was surprised that it was only 40mm because it rained just about continuously yesterday. Supposed to warm up over the weekend, you’d have to hope so, it is only just over a week until Spring. I blame the Indian Ocean Dipole :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Enjoy your Friday as the week winds down.

Take care…

Good morning!
Cloudy but dry

Well, I finished tidying my books & shelves yesterday … quite satisfying, and things are, surprisingly enough, much tidier!

I have a box of books to take to a charity shop, and two carrier bags of unread and part read books, which should keep me going for ages

Bored now!

Morning all…Another bright and sunny day in this part of the world.

Can’t say anything exciting going on with me today. We are going down to Somerset for a few days tomorrow for a bit of a getaway and visit some places, so we’ll be packing a case or two for that.

Looks like we may be booking yet another cruise for next May for a week in Norway, still looking at the packages available as there are some Bank Holiday discounts on offer - something to mull over with my coffee this morning.

Yesterday, I managed to dig up my old camcorder which has been loafing around for years, charged the battery and it burst into life. The next thing is to try to find a cable for it so I can transfer video off of it and into my very antiquated laptop and see if I can convert and edit them into watchable movies.

Anyways, hope everyone has a great day…

:video_camera: :coffee: :+1:

Hi

Not long been awake, best sleep in ages.

The house is looking a tip, so a clean up day is in order.

I am having a vegie day today, lots of things to use up, including trying out some home grown chillies.

Have a great day all.

W have been to Norway twice and the fjords are unbelievable . Get a trip booked to go out and up into the mountains is well worth it. I didn’t think much of the flam railway, bit over hyped in my opinion.

Yet again another hot day here with the hose ban still on

So here we are on another Good Friday…(no not that one) and good morning to the early posters and those having a lie in…
I was ‘up and at em’ this morning with a 12 mile bike ride. I was just enjoying the peace of the countryside when my old clamshell phone burst into life…I knew it must have been Mrs Fox because she’s the only one who has got my new number…Of course, I didn’t answer it cos I was flying along at about 10 mph…And with just a mile left to go I would be home soon anyway.
This new communications company who are bringing fibre into my home booked a time and date for the engineer to come and install all the necessary’s into the house, but they did mention an engineer would come round first that didn’t need access inside the house, to put a box on the wall, so it didn’t matter if you weren’t in. Bugger that! nobody puts anything on my wall without me being there… :face_with_monocle:
So Mrs Fox sent them away and told them to come back later…They did come back later, and it was a good job I was there because there already was a fibre cable leading to my house, and it was put in by them a couple of months ago…So they were going to put a third cable in… :009: Not on your nelly…
Anyway, they did come inside (because I wired it up myself) and tested the cable which was found to be good…So after they left, I finished off my cold porridge…Uh!

I’ve surfaced from my pit … had some toast, fixed my face and now smiling at the world.
Gee…it’s already afternoon and I haven’t decided what to do today yet …
I suppose I could always leave it till tomorrow, whatever I think of.

We have been to Norway twice before. The first time was a couple of years ago which was a birthday present from “Mrs Graham”, hoping to see the northern lights, but it rained continually and didn’t see anything. The second time was a few months ago after we circumnavigated Iceland. This trip (if we go ahead) will be to visit a load of places we’ve never been before, and will stop at Skjolden which is one of the places we fell in love with when we were last there. (Our cruise ship is to the left of the pic), which is one of the reasons we are looking at this trip.

Good afternoon everyone, our Summer’s gone a little crazy, more rain early this morning but luckily it didn’t last long, the sun came out, blue sky, not so hot, so I decided to drive into town and go for a nice, long walk in the town centre. Yes, I know I’m a bit unusual, I live in the open countryside so I could go on wonderful nature walks but I prefer walking in town! Especially this time of year, many townspeople still on holidays, lots of shops still closed and much less traffic about.

Mrs Fox did the right thing @OldGreyFox, the same happened to me once many years ago . I had to send away phone technicians when they said they needed to come inside and open up our main phone socket! They were supposed to work on the outside! I called my husband at work, he said he would come home straight away and they agreed to wait outside for him. I heard one of them saying to his colleague that he understood my reaction. I should think so! :rage:
