Well, Good morning to you all on this last Friday before Christmas. It’s a warm pleasant summer day with temps in the mid 20s so nice to be out in the garden
This morning I got my tyres replaced, wheel aligned and balanced, which I was quite pleased with, nice to see some chunky tread on the car again. These are Yokohama’s, time will tell if they are as good as the Toyo’s but the special was too good to ignore.
Apart from that I have mowed the council’s grass in preparation for Christmas, my grandkids seem to spend 80% of their time on their devices so I have had to keep myself busy.
Now that the tyre job is done I can concentrate on getting ready for my trip to Canberra on Sunday. it is double demerit points until the new year so I will be obeying the speed limit like crazy until then. On the way home from the tyre place I saw two drivers pulled over by the cops.
Have a lovely weekend, the schools are on holiday here until February so the shopping mall will be littered with kids and shopping will be frantic for the next few days.
I set my alarm for this morning , the joiner was coming at 9am to give a quote, now had a message to say he’s at the Hospital in a medical emergency with a family member.
I feel sorry for him to have this happen so close to Christmas Day , and Hospitals over flowing with Flu intakes .
I aim on keeping out of Hospitals , had enough of them over the last 12 months .
My last food shop before the 25th comes this evening ,couldn’t get any closer without paying out the nose for a delivery.
Dog was running in her sleep last night ,legs were going at a fast pace … she gets more exercise that way than in real life , I decided to wake her as it went on that long and I thought she might give herself a heart attack , after waking her she went back to sleep and continued her dream running and yapping . …Wonder if Foxy runs in his sleep…
Good morning - There’s a frost on the lawn and the temperature at 9.0 A.M. is a chilly 3ºC. Not much to do today but that might change when our son and daughter turn up later. I have an appointment for an LHRH injection to look forward to this afternoon.
Morning all – I’m back (did you miss me!) Cold and overcast this morning
The visit from my relatives was lovely, we had some long enjoyable chats and also visited a few places (with help from my always accommodating neighbour). I took my visitors and my neighbours out for dinner last night – the server said she had rarely heard so much laughter coming from one table!
Neighbour picked them up at 7.00 am to take them to the coach station – the house seems very empty and quiet now. They are staying in London for a couple of days and then returning to Australia in time for Christmas - seems they are looking forward to not having to wear thermals!
Today will be spent catching up with laundry and shopping (and also catching up with what you have all been up to over the last few days!)
The trip sounds wonderful, but that is a sad shame about faces being glued to the blue screens. I can’t imagine that time spent staring at a screen makes for very good memories. Hopefully they will come around, Bruce!
I wonder too. Do you think think it comes with yapping and howling?
It’s so nice to have them under the same roof, isn’t it, Mart! I hope you have a really nice time.
Those get togethers where the main course is laughter are the very best. I’m glad you had such a good time!
I’m off to do the grocery shopping for Christmas. Sadly, with a house with no kids, we are let to our own dull devices for the holiday, so I’ve decided to have a trio of foundues (cheese, oil, and chocolate) and assign everyone sous chef duties. That means I’ve a pretty lengthy grocery list.
I did come across a five and dime store that was going out of business and came out with an arm of board and card games. Rumor has it that Santa will be delivering them so we can have a family game day on Christmas…and make up for hurt feelings and losses the day after Ho, ho, ho!
