Good Morning Friday, 19th June 2026

Good morning to you all on this rather overcast Friday, a bit cooler today - maybe 20/21°.

Went for my walk this morning followed by a trip to Woollies to buy milk but that may well be the height of excitement for today. Oh, probably only topped by getting the bins in.:question: There were a few spots of rain while I was out walking but it was literally just spots.

I found this rather strange coin/medallion in the garden. I have no idea where it came from It is dated 1996 so it arrived long after I bought the place and has to do with a public school in Sydney, somewhere that at best I have just passed through?

I am afraid I don’t have much going on today so I hope you have better tales to tell.

Nearly the weekend.

Take care…

I cleaned it up a bit, I am absolutely no wiser as to how it got in my garden.

It is only tiny, about 10mm in diameter

Good morning all!:sun_with_face:

Hurrah, sunny day ahead, first serious task of the day is to pop over the road to the Turkish Barbershop, tis mohawk maintenance day yet again!

That token fascinates me Bruce, it’s amazing what lies under the ground. Yep, I had a quick Google, the school still exists with the same crest on the uniform. I must dust down my metal detector for the summer. I’ve made a few leisurely quid detecting on Brighton beach in the past.

I’ve just ordered another roll of colour film for next Saturday.

It’s Armed Forces Day in town next Saturday, commencing with a parade followed by stalls where members of the public can have a chat and handle weapons such as the SA80

No live rounds involved!:open_mouth:

Have a lively Friday people!:v::sunglasses::sunflower:

I think @OldGreyFox is a detectorist too

Yes, If memory serves he was actually building one of his own in his workshop a little while back. Maybe he’ll read this and get back to us. Unless he’s dug up a gold hoard in Cromer and scarpered with the loot!:open_mouth::wink:

Good morning each. It looks like being a real scorcher again and for the next few days so take care out there.
No leaving dogs in cars please not even if your windows are left open a little.
Also no walking them on pavements either cos they will burn their pads really quickly.

Good morning all

Sound advice @EZ_Rider hope all Dog owners will take heed.

Its a glorious morning here Ive been up and about since 4am , nice to hear the Birds singing at that time.

Im changing over from a PAYG old Nokia today to a gifted iPhone Contract , Ive a lot to learn ,I shall miss my trusty Nokia which served me well for 10 years, but after dropping it the screen shattered. And it did take a while to type out Text .
My family use to say Mums got a Burner phone , haha .

A parcel arriving today , Ive ordered a couple of Venetian blinds , they so handy in this hot weather , I can filter the light and heat in .

Interesting medallion Bruce and good research Chilli , I like watching the Mudlarkers on YT, they look into the history of their finds, from the Thames banks .
I use to walk the fields and find old clay pipes , just the bowls or bits of pipe ends .
And I once found a button off a Military uniform , it was next to a Airfield that had been used in WW11…

Enjoy the day everyone .

Morning all – sunny start to the day although we are being told the beginning of the “heat wave” has been put off until Sunday!

Interesting find Bruce - we bought a 200 year old cottage and when digging in the garden came across several things, clay pipe (of course), an unbroken glass bottle with a glass stopper (how it survived I have no idea) and several coins, mostly farthings!

Went to the Thursday meet up with the girls, but no-one was there! I texted to find out what had happened but no reply – am I being ghosted or they have been abducted by aliens?

I am expecting a couple of parcels today – one being delivered by Royal Mail. Why can’t they give an approximate time it will be delivered – morning or afternoon? The only notification I received is that it will be delivered today by 5pm and it is not something that will fit through the letter box!

Take care - have a great day
