Good morning - Up and about in time to give our daughter a lift to the railway station. She is meeting a friend in London for a day out. The friend is travelling from the north. Not good weather for a meet-up and a day out but plenty of under-cover things to do I suppose.
I won’t be going far myself. A drive to the hospital later to visit Mrs mart. This one isn’t reachable by bus travel.
I woke up at about 03-00 this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep, so I made a cup of coffee and watched a couple of YT Videos on vegan cooking, even though I’m nor a vegan or veggie
Then I got back into bed about 04-30 and woke up at about 09-20
I’ve been doing that quite a bit recently - waking up in the early hours & can’t settle & having a cup of tea or coffee, then either getting back into bed or just sitting & dozing, but not properly sleeping, in my comfy chair
I must get out of this as it often means that I’m then a bit too tired to do anything useful like jobs or hobbies.
Morning all – we are in for a day of constant rain so I won’t be leaving the house
Gardener cancelled again on Wednesday due to the wet weather, now rebooked for Monday (fingers crossed)
Yesterday was the usual coffee, cake and gossip get together – first there was a lot of complaining about the difficulty in accessing GP appointments but that soon changed to a more light hearted conversation
As I said I don’t plan on leaving the house at all today – I have some paperwork to attend to and should probably also think about what I will need to take on my visit to Australia (somehow I don’t think I will be needing to take my heavy coat!)
Ive been Black Friday Shopping and have bought Trousers, Boots and Bag ,
The weather here is dreadful at the moment with Amber warnings in place for my area , Flooding is predicted ,the rain as been relentless the last 24 hours and theres more to come .
Thankfully its forecast dry on Monday when I have 2 Hospital appointments …
My Grandson is moving to Scotland today , not the best day to move but they will be settled in for Christmas.
@Graham Does she like the Theatre ? if so perhaps you could book something for the future , I love going and have 12 shows booked so far …
We will be in New York for her birthday and have a show already booked as part of a surprise. But she likes things to unwrap and I’m floundering as to what to get her in addition. I don’t want to take stuff to NY, and then have to bring it all back again, so she may have to have a part-belated birthday.
Chucking it down with rain since the wee small hours so I braved the pouring rain and got my early morning walk done and out of the way…Nothing to go out for now…
Puddles and soggy leaves everywhere, so did quite a lot of running to keep warm.
Some ‘Battlebots’ to catch up on, and I’m getting a taste for a new project in the workshop…
Oh well, probably not good to indulge in too much revelry before the weekend, over 50’s and all that
Foxy…are you having another go at the gunpowder in your workshop. I know we talked about it a little while back now
I have the guest room ready. The plan is that some decent coffee and breakfast casserole will salve the early-morning-grumpiness that results in such bad behavior
We just go to the beach. Beaches (50 miles north and south, piers, and apparently cruise ships! (Not my photo).
Good afternoon everyone, sorry to hear about all the rain, we’re still having very mild, sunny days, but very damp in the mornings. Unfortunately, rain is on the way next week, well it couldn’t last, I suppose.
Went to my excersise class this morning, then stopped at the fish stall at a local market and bought a couple of slices of swordfish for our lunch.Friday is fishy day, here! Two gigantic slices actually, I had to put one in the freezer, one was more than enough for me and my son. I’m not used to buying fresh fish, only frozen, so I hadn’t thought about the quantity.
Australia, New York, Bruce’s road trip…we’re going to turn green…
Sounds so exciting @Surfermom, I would love to see a space launch.
Not seeing them that much lately Chili, not because they aren’t there, but because days are shorter and I don’t spend much time outside. Whoever goes down a country road at night by car definitely gets to see them crossing the roads in groups, one after another, all in a row.
I have a large portable air pump I keep in the car but I prefer going to the servo it is only 300 metres away. It takes me less time driving there than getting the pump out, connecting it up whereas the pump at the servo is automatic it beeps when the set pressure is reached and its free.
I really only use my pump after letting down the tyres for driving on a dirt road. It’s one of these, except an earlier model:
Sounds like a nice day out as well as very interesting.
