Good morning all. Yes it is Friday the Thirteenth and there will be another in four weeks time
It was a bit overcast this morning and cool, low/mid 20s only.
Went for my walk then spent ages trying to decipher the British Passport on line application form. They asked things like parents birthdays I don’t have a clue, I know the approximate year but can’t remember the exact dates, let’s face it they were born over a century ago and died 40 years ago. So damn complicated just to get a useless passport (for me).
Then the day surgery rang me and told me I can’t go home by taxi after eye surgery so I am trying to find someone to pick me up, most people I know have given up their licence so that is proving to be a problem too.
Ho hum… well it is the 13th! I decided to buy a lottery ticket.
Good morning!
Cloudy, grey, dull, and light snow, but it’s not sticking
My flu bug has mostly cleared up, though I still feel a bit weak & tired
Cleaning & tidying is more or less up to date - a house, or in my case, a flat, is never finished of course, but it’ll do.
So I’ll get back to my hobbies; to remind you, they are - making model planes; making knives; leatherwork
Plus I have two carrier bags full of unread books
It’ll be nice to get back to something I enjoy
Oh, I’ve just remembered - recently YouTube presented me with a video on making wooden jewellery, and I’ve since watched a few more, especially on wooden necklace pendants
This is a good Channel, but there are others - Ricardus Wood Carving
Well I have loads of wood offcuts and suitable tools like fine saws, files, and a lifetime’s collection of sandpaper, and I thought I might have a go at that – as if I don’t have enough to do already.
We shall see…
My PC has been hit with the Friday 13th curse, in that it appears the latest update has messed up the secure boot system, which I’m trying to sort out as I write this. Really annoying as I needed to do something important and this happens. I can still get into it, but its right pain to get the thing to start up.
Apart from my PC grief, I have the more important task of getting cards and flowers for the wife, although we agreed long ago we don’t buy Valentines presents for each other (which suits me), although I may go as far as a few lottery scratch cards she likes to do. After that, it’s down to the DIY shop to size up a home project I need to get started. If I get my PC sorted, I need to book a couple of photoshoots which are coming up. If I get time after that, I may wander up to the local waterway and see how the swans and geese are getting on.
Morning all - I’m back! Have spent 2 wonderful months in Australia visiting family. I got back yesterday afternoon and found the journey way more tiring than when I have made the same journey before - could this be a sign I am getting old (please say no!). Most of the time was spent reminiscing with my brother. I now plan to spend the day grocery shoppings, unpacking and trying to deal with the mountain of post that was waiting for me - one of which was a reminder that the Road Fund Licence on my car ran out end of January!
