Good Morning Friday, 11th July 2025

Good morning everybody, the wind as died down this morning but it kept waking me up during the night.

I forgot to go to my dentist yesterday arvo  so I have to ring up to make another appointment.

Restarted my varnishing this morning now that it isn’t likely to get blown away. I had trouble finding my milk crates this morning they had blown about in the garden. I use them to rest my painting on.

Will probably go for a walk this arvo but every so often the wind gusts up, lots of trees brought down last night apparently, none near me, just the odd branch blown off. The wind gusted to over 140kph last night according to the local radio. This is a miserable winter.

My daughter called me this morning, she has arrived in foreign parts and starts her new job on Saturday. It is 32° everyday where she is which makes this weather where I am seem even more miserable.

I might buy a lottery ticket later

Enjoy your day.

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

You certainly don’t have a boring life Bruce, always busy with one thing or another.

By all means get a Lottery Ticket, I do, a little bit of fun, I don’t gamble as such.

I get a ticket twice a week, breaks the boredom and a carry on from when it started buying one for the kids.

I very rarely win anything, play online and a few weeks ago got an email to say that I had won a prize.

It was a Rollup Weekend, Jackpot had not been won for some weeks, so my
£5 win was turned into £66, a pleasant surprise.

I went out yesterday , a very rare event for me, Shona took me to ASDA, a supermarket I had not been to for years.

We exited using the wide disabled checkpoint, behind us was a very pleasant looking grey haired lady with her carer.

She smiled at me, I smiled back, next thing she grabbed me, called me Dave and tried to kiss me.

Both carers trying to get her off me, she was not letting go.

She was a dementia sufferer and confused me with her Ex.

Quite an event.

Shona thought it hilarious, you’ve still got it then.

I have Kinga here today for 4 hours, her gardening day.

Have a great day all, whatever you are doing.

Good morning all! :sun_with_face:

I’m anticipating another hot day, 30 degrees forecast and not a hint of a breeze at the moment!
A friend of mine has very kindly sent me a present, one of those usb rechargeable neck fans which is very kind of her. It should be arriving this morning courtesy of Royal Mail.

She lives right out in rural North Wales. Her Bernese Mountain doggies do not like the heat one little bit, all that fur…

They plonk themselves on the cool tiles for some relief, can’t say I blame them :dog::dog:

Anyway, just savouring that first strong coffee :coffee:

Have a good day people, don’t be stingy with that ice cream!:+1:

I think my daughter is in similar line of work to you, it’s all a bit secret. i suggested she meet up with a friend of mine while she is overseas and she told me that she can’t because such a contact would mean a lot of paperwork.

I only know where she is employed because i drove her to work one day. She could be a cleaner for all I know.

I am not a fan of gambling either poker machines bore the pants off me. I only pay “my very bad at maths” tax occasionally, it is just a bit of fun.

Bora Da from Wales.
It looks like another hot sunny day and the sun is streaming through the window already.
I’ve had a few wakeup calls on this holiday. First call was when I found myself really struggling on the steep climbs around the Great Orme, and the second one was when we went swimming yesterday morning. I could hardly keep myself afloat and was fighting for breath after half a length. I did eventually manage about 8 lengths but not all at once.
It’s our last day today and while Mrs Fox takes the tram up to the top of the Orme, I intend to climb it and meet her at the top.
It will probably be a lot cooler up there.
It looks like you’ve pulled Swim, still life in the old dog yet!

I love that doggy @Chilliboot !

Good morning everybody. Sorry to hear that @OldGreyFox, take care of yourself! Enjoy the last stretch of holiday.

Sorry it’s a tough winter where you are @Bruce

Always nice to get a kiss from a stranger @swimfeeders, even if they do mistake you for someone else!

Weather is delightful this morning, but the water is very, very cold. I’ve dipped one toe in, and now I’m just sat down and reading, building up the courage to go back in!

Oh it’s not fun when your alarm goes off! So much work to do I’ve had to get up an hour earlier than normal. Fridays aren’t meant to be like this, no fair!

Hope you’re all having a happy Friday so far, nice to see you all!

Hello sorry I’ve been away for a couple of weeks, had a brief hospital stay but everything’s fine, and been a bit snowed under since getting back home.

How have you all been, what have I missed?

Good morning!
Bright, sunny, and warm

Immediate plans are for a shower & breakfast, then later this morning I’ll do some shopping at Sainsbury - because of the one way system this is my most convenient supermarket
It is on the same retail park as Curry’s, and as I want a new vacuum cleaner I’ll do some window shopping there

And that’s about it for now.

Hello everybody! First time I’ve ever logged on here from a work computer…trying to be very very safe for work!

On a separate note, don’t you owe us a story @Tracyhello, what happened on that Camp America pier?:smiling_face:

A couple of photos from todays adventure.
Managed to climb the Great Orme in sweltering temperatures.
Took plenty of water.
Lots of steps and had to keep resting.

Amazing views of Llandudno pier.

The top is in sight but the steapest hill still to come.

Finally at the top and meeting Mrs Fox. She took the tram.

One of the best views on the way down.

@swimfeeders post made me chuckle! It’s good to be kissed, even if they don’t know who it is! Made me want to post my day so far.
My girlfriend came over to help me wash my removable windows this noon. It’s so hot here, 87 deg, we were working. My 36 year old neighbor pulled his car in the lot, got out, saw us hanging out the window, I waved and said, “Hello”. He stopped, I asked if he were finished as music teacher for the summer. He nodded, then said, "I’m bartending at Awestruck Ciders for the summer until school starts back. I introduced him to my friend, said she’s also a neighbor here.
I then said I hadn’t been to the AC pub for two years, was it still hopping? He said it was thriving, and if I came down this evening he’d buy me a flight (four sample shots of hard ciders from local breweries) so I could try new flavors.
Need I say he didn’t need to ask me twice? Invited to a bar by a very good looking guy have my age, on a whim. He didn’t have to  We will be going out this evening, and I’ll be grinning now I know the bartender there. Ah, life is good. :hugs:
