I don’t think the councils over here have got enough pennies left in their piggy banks to spray anything…as far as the brambles are concerned I’m not going to lose sleep over it
On my first walk here I picked a few and mentioned it when I got back.My BH said. You’d better hope the council haven’t been around yet
But you lived to tell the tale…a stout yeoman!
Time flies and there are plenty of last year’s wild blackberries in the freezer to use up.
I thought I’d try something different and go for blackberry cookies. No artificial colouring involved.
The dough is chilling in the fridge for a hour or so before being rolled out, chocolate chipped, cut out and baked.
i ate all mine ages ago ,carnt wait to pick some more.
Scarily enough it won’t be very long before you have the opportunity to pick some more.
Around about the time of year when the Christmas decorations appear in Wilko
I want one !
You’d be more than welcome… maybe next time
I’ve got the feeling that my son has his eye on the rest, they won’t be going stale
We pick those berries every year as well as raspberries and blueberries
@Chelsea62 Theres nothing like free food is there , I wouldnt mind picking Raspberries in the wild but Im not a fan of Blueberries which I believe grow wild on the Moors here in England .
The blueberries grow so much lower so picking them is really hard on the back.
The seasons come and go. It’s hard to believe that it won’t be very long before autumn is with us.
Our local crab apple is bearing fruit once again.

WOW ! ST… this is an excellent guide - best I’ve seen by far.
Thanks ever so much
.
Those look lovely and juicy Eliza
I didnt have a container or i would have picked more to bring home , but I grazed on them as i walked …
I dont like shop bought ones , but these were delicious
That’s often the way, you unexpectedly stumble upon some delectables outdoors and have nothing to take them home in
A much, much better year for the blackberries.
Loads of succulent juicy fruit already on the tips of the canes and plenty more to ripen over the coming weeks.
I did suggest to my son that white probably wasn’t the ideal colour for blackberry picking but hey ho, no damage done.
Haws are looking pretty decent too, they’ll be nice and ripe to put through the mouli and make a spicy ketchup in time for Christmas!
And with all this wet weather we might be blessed with a bountiful fungi season this Autumn.
These are Haymakers mushroom, certainly not edible but just maybe an indication of better things to come.
Ive just asked my son to see if the Blackberries are ready in the spot we gathered from last year .Maybe go blackberry picking this weekend .
