Floydy's All-Time Top 1000 Favourite Albums

Oh that’s good.
Did you like the Ryan Adams videos I spent time putting on here yesterday at all, which basically had very little connection to the thread?

Stand by for the last few albums taking us to the Top 300. Need a break from this today.

Yes, I enjoyed the Ryan Adams videos very much, prompting a listen to Love Is Hell.

That man has put out so many good albums in such a short space of time.

That’s the nature of message boards.I’ve been visiting them since 2003 and it’s always been like that. There will be a gang who just want to chat with one another. As long as you get your message across that’s the main thing.
I’ve been enjoying your efforts very much mate and I’ve learnt a lot.

No chat with these last few, haven’t got time sorry. Let’s get them out of the way.

No.304: “MCMXC A.D.” by Enigma (1990)

I know mate, thanks, and you’ve been a great member posting in here. I just got out of bed the wrong side this morning and I’ll get over it lol. :102:

No.303: “Back In Black” by AC/DC" (1980)

The fact that this thread has had over 17000 views says something. And it’s actually a lot of work you’ve put in coming up with 1000 favourite albums.

On another forum I put up a list of my favourite Neil Young/Neil Young & Crazy horse albums in order plus my top 50 of their songs…and that was hard work for me!

I must say, play those two songs. They are outstanding. The first has vocals by John Miles, the second is Collin Blunstone.

I know mate. And I understand that not everybody likes music in the same way as we do. This forum just seems a little one-sided sometimes, especially when a lot of the ladies on here are always begging for people to join in with their inane chit chat. Whatever.

Maybe we’re not real people

I do look in occasionally to this thread Floydy, and it’s nothing personal regarding not posting but I just feel that I’ve nothing to add and didn’t want to spoil your magnificent efforts having very little interest in music… I could probably remember a bit of Bat Out of Hell and Rumours, but that’s about it I’m afraid…

No.301: “Fifth Dimension” by The Byrds (1966)

You’ve seen that thread!

Fifth Dimension is very good - not quite my favourite Byrds album (that would be The Notorious Byrd Brothers) but getting there.

Hi Barry.
That’s okay bud. I’m not clammering for visitors, I’m just wondering why many of the threads which last about a day have input by probably 80% of regular posters on here when they go out of their way to ignore the more specialised threads. Perhaps they have little attention span or something.
Nice to know some are looking in anyway, it makes my efforts not a complete wast of time, blindly posting record sleeves for the sake of my health! Sometimes though I do wish I’d just done a one-page list and have had done with it though I do enjoy this when we get some conversation going.
You know me by now, Barry, I’m a moody old bugger!:cool:

I can’t remember if we’ve had that one yet without looking, Ffosse…hope I didn’t miss it out too!

EDIT: Yep, No.848.

May be back later on then, when I’m not feeling so grumpy.
Need to get out more lol!

Ha ha…you’re right…I’ve never even thought about compiling a top 50 …let alone a top 1000 and if I did do a top 50 I would probably never be happy so I do respect your efforts.

I know you want a break after doing this but I hope you hang around for our comments …not that they matter , ultimately!

I’d be the same with a top 50 - it would have to be dynamic otherwise I would never be happy. My favourite album is one few would agree with if they had even listened to it: Neil Young & Crazy Horse Sleeps With Angels.

Aw mate, course I will. I’m just in a really nasty, miserable mood today. Duinno what’s the matter with me to be honest.
I think I need a beer.

Yeah, it won’t be “Right, here’s the No.1. We’re done!”.
I think we may stick around and discuss things further. I know I’ll be adding some notes on those which didn’t make the cut etc - which I can’t do yet for obvious reasons - and other short lists detailing the top albums per year etc (maybe in a ‘Top 10 per year’ and so on). Loads of ideas yet bud, and hopefully some of you may submit your own lists too which would be great.

I also need to catch up severely on to other people’s music threads, such as Nom’s avant garde ones and others who post similar threads
