Floydy's All-Time Top 1000 Favourite Albums

It’s strange isn’t it how we’ve actually mentioned Neil Young and Van Morrison a lot recently.
I doubt the next album will be in your top 10, or anywhere at all though

Love Moondance. Not quite my favourite though…

Yes, I have Weld. Freedom was a return to form for Young. Even he would admit that This Note’s For You, Life and Landing On Water weren’t his finest moments.

The deluxe version of Who’s Next is worth getting for the extra tracks.

I’ve just put Freedom on. I love Crime In The City.

No.56: “Pulse” by Pink Floyd (1995)
This stunning audio and visual (CD/DVD) memento from the two-year Division Bell album tour is the final live document from Pink Floyd, save for the brief reformation of all four members at Live8 in 2005. The album was superb, the shows were awesome and I cannot for the life of me understand why I didn’t go to see the band. With Richard Wright back in the group, this album shows the later Gilmour-led Floyd at their very best.

I’m surprised all those videos were available for posting to be honest!

I’d love to have put more Neil Young albums in the list, but it’s wondering what to submit. He must have released over 40 albums - and that’s just the studio ones. There are some of the later ones I need to still get hold of yet.

Got the deluxe Who’s Next. Bought it when I got the 2CD of Live at Leeds, which includes the Hull concert as well.

For this next one, please don’t post until all of this album is completed over FIVE posts.
This one is really tricky to sort out. You’ll see why as it unfolds, thanks

No.55: “Automatic For The People” by R.E.M. (1992)
The Georgia band’s tour de force; their megabucks seller and the one which is my favourite album of theirs. Umpteen singles released from an unbeatable, fantastic 12-song track listing. This album is a delight for any music fan whether they are into R.E.M. or not.A contemporary masterpiece if ever there was one and one of my biggest regrets in music is not seeing R.E.M. live. The gorgeous couple of tracks which were ‘Nightswimming’ and ‘Everybody Hurts’…oh the list goes on!
No point talking about the songs because this album is so bloody good that I’m posting ALL of these songs in order of appearance on the album over the next few posts. Some may be live versions (or audio if no video is available).

Okay, you can post now lol. I sure look after you guys

Superb album and it’s my favourite REM record too.

Hope you enjoyed that. It was a spur of the moment idea to post the whole album in sequence. If that went down well with you guys, I may do this again for a future album in here, depending on video availability of course.

Thanks for reading today. I’m now going to prepare nos.54-51 in order to get those posted tomorrow so we will be beginning the Top 50 towards the end of the week. Is this exciting or what?! :026:

It’s an absolutely faultless record isn’t it, Ffosse. Should have been higher really :100:

Okay, I’ve got the next four ready taking us to No.50. Just waiting for others to catch up first and then I’ll post them. Thanks

You work so hard on this thread Floydy.
You deserve an award.

Yes, mine too.

I honestly don’t know anyone who doesn’t own that album!!!

That’s how good it is.

Also Neil Young!!! Absolute Legend!

Or a wooden box at the end of it!

Stunning album, probably my second favourite album of the 90’s.

And we’re still not done yet with Mr. Young

NOOOO everyone loves this thread.
Maybe a Blue Peter badge:lol:
