Goodness, I’ve only occasionally looked at the news today and we have …
An 8,8 earthquake … in Russia?
Tsunami warnings in the Pacific and the US coast …
And lastly … a volcano erupting.
Mother Nature has had enough of us humans hasn’t she.

Mother Nature hasn’t been friendly for a long time.As the residents of Pompei found out
But it’s been so quiet for so long …
I remember that one in 2004, Boxing Day.
Not something I’d want to live through.
Scary.I was unaware of Tsunamis before that.
I watched a documentary on TV some years back
They had found evidence of a massive tsunami that struck all the east coast of north America from Canada and down to the Gulf of Mexico. It had been long before any civilised habitation, and had it happened today, it would have been catastrophic.
They calculated that the reason for the tsunami was the collapse of a massive chunk of cliffs that slipped into the Atlantic Ocean on Tenerife called ‘Los Gigantes’
Due to recent monitoring of the this highly unstable tectonic plate, it has been discovered that an even bigger chunk could slip into the sea sometime soon.
Who knows…
The Kiwis had a Tsunami warning but we were told there was no danger.
Russia seems to have been hit hard
I was working in Stockholm at the time. Something like 1,200 Swedes died in that tsunami. A guy I was working with was in Thailand but flew out on the very day of the tsunami - and saw the wave hit the coast as his plane took off. It shattered him as he knew people in the resort that he saw being hit.
