Has been a little while since my last bet.
So today I picked out a horse, Classic Impact, racing at Ascot. 16/1
When I went to the betting shop the race before my race was about to start.
I picked a horse, Bird’s the Word, 70/1, placed $5 each way.
Horse won and I picked up $427.50.
I did back Classic Impact, it ran second and I picked up $15.50
For a $20 outlay I pocketed $443.
That’s the trouble with bets: next time there’ll only be $423 left but it may be entertaining. ![]()
I’ve never got into the betting thing at all.
I do (vaguely) remember losing a few pre decimal coins in slot machines very similar to this on piers during the summer holidays.
As long as I got my fish and chips at the end of day all was well! ![]()
Hi
I do the National Lottery every week since it started.
I look at it as a donation to Charity.
I never bet on anything else because it will always lose.
I buy a lottery ticket every week as well. I also look at it as donating to charity. I never win. ![]()
Yes, mystic Meg!
I have never even set foot in a betting shop and have no intention of doing so.
The nearest I got to gambling was the lottery, but stopped with they put both the prices and number of balls up. I used to do scratchcards now and again, but stopped that ages ago.
Last time I played a fruit machine was twenty years ago when in Las Vegas. I played $20, won £30 and put it all back in. It was just a spur of the moment thing.
I’ve never been tempted. If you see a brand new car parked outside the bookies,it will be his. ![]()
