This must have been one of the most surreal threads and finding it was driven by a half-baked AI certainly explains quite a lot. However, some of the posts by long term (and I presume real) members were equally strange. What does all this say about us?

More to the point, what does it say about the future of forums?
Any new member has to be given the benefit of the doubt and assume they are genuinely asking for help and want to become part of this online community.
I found the Americanisms overdone, the spelling and grammar was rubbish, and it was very repetative.
I can imagine some nerd sitting alone in his bedroom inventing an imaginary friend and trying to fool genuine, friendly, helpful people on a forum.
There is a name for that kind of behaviour, and such a shame that an obviously educated and intelligent person can’t use that intelligence for a more productive purpose.
