Poor Mollie! (Yet in the back of my mind, I can hear Mollie think ‘that’s fun’ )
Ah, I’m beginning to understand your problem then Mark - you should wear some of those shorts when you do your running
No it isn’t because she is only allowed to mug people who like being mugged, family mostly. Out and about she is on a lead as her deafness and eye sight and slight dementia mean she is scared if she loses us so she feels safer on the end of a lead.
I think she would like those, she mugged me for my magnum hence they both have ice cream !
Err, hang on - I meant getting one for me not for her to eat herself; how rude
I am sure she would share, she isn’t greedy. And you could have the cone, she isn’t allowed the cones as she is gluten intolerant and the resulting mess ain’t pretty.
I’m happy with that bargain Julie
Oh I couldn’t agree more with everything you say ben-varrey. Very well said.
Oh Ben-Varrey, you made me LOL at this one.
Mark’s attitude and dislike of dogs goes a long way to seeing why he gets attacked in the first place unfortunately - sorry Mark but it’s true.
Thank you Mups - I think Mark thought I was a bit long-winded
It probably does - they can most likely sense he’s a bit frightened. I have heard that the smell of fear comes from the ankles and that the advice given is to wear wellies so that dogs can’t smell the fear but the image of Mark running in wellies, well, I can’t see him going for that somehow
Not sure that is right. What they might sense is my dislike and aggression towards them and their owners which might be worse . Anyways I try to calm myself when approaching them and not look either the owner or dog in the eye.
Ah - your problem is becoming clearer: they sense your hostility and are reacting in a predictable manner!
I don’t get attacked often - if ever lol. It is the thought that I might be is the problem. What gets me aggressive though is why I should be made to think and feel like it in the first place. Hell I am being forcefully subjugated by people with dogs. They are imposing their life on me and I don’t seem to have a choice in the matter, and by now (other posts) you should have worked out I hate being dictated to .
By the way I usually say hello or good morning to most as I run pass. I am not some hysterical running hooligan. Just thought I better mention that ;-).
If you don’t get attacked often, why does it irritate you so much?
BIB: maybe dog walkers feel the same way

I didn’t think you would be a running hooligan (that made me smile).
You have to admit that runners are not the antisocial types here. Dog owners obviously prefer dogs to human beings apparently. Another problem is that morning walkies are invariably taken on the same routes that people out for a walk or jog also use. If you look at it objectively the fly in the ointment that stands out like a country mile is the dog, as the rest are all human beings.
All living things have a right to be on the planet Mark (apart from flies and ants).
nothing wrong with us flies and ants ~ I object most strongly

Ooo - girlie argument developing (cat fight?) :-D.
puts head under cover
Dogs are not the problem, actually most walks have been dogs walking areas for far longer than the current fad for cycling and running. The main walk I use never saw a bicycle or runner back in the 70’s early 80’s they are much more recent additions, and we have suffered the roller skaters and skate boarders over the years too (thankfully they have now got their own park but the craze seems to have waned anyway).
Don’t hold back on my account lol ;-):-D:twisted:.
Go forrit!
