Bananas are not getting any straighter.
Actually, if you adhere to the lies spread by the right wing press, after leaving the EU then one might expect that bananas would have become less straight. That is more in line with the myth perpetuated by the Mail, etc.
I canāt remember what we were promised now, it might have been cucumbers.
long and straight ones wuntit
Lincs would know.

Is this the time for āStraight Talkā?
I never did find the wine lake and butter mountain
Pretty much everyone (except those whose mindset is either anti-Europe or UK isolationist) have now recognised that Brexit isnāt what was promised ⦠and frankly was never going to be. I hate to say that I told you so but ā¦
I for one never expected anything except the bloody year on year debate to finish.
Perhaps that might be so in the circles you move in Lincs, but not in mine.
And lets get one thing straight, we are not āAnti Europeā we are Anti EUā¦Those money grabbing, country robbing Bāstards. One day the working classes of European countries will see what damage the EU has done to them, and it will all come crashing down.
But you canāt separate the governance of the EU from being in the EU can gaining the benefits from being in the EU. Besides, much of the money going into the EU then goes out to fund investment programmes. And funny you make the claim that the working class donāt benefit from the EU - actually they do. Remember when the austerity cuts by the tories came in? All focused on cutting services and support and hitting low income people most. In the years of that government, the tories hated that the EU was still spending money on improvement projects in deprived parts of the UK. The tories and the rich hate the EU because it is, at the core of its policies, about redistribution and addressing areas of deprivation. So I find it strange that someone who pretends to be one of the ordinary people is now siding with the tax cutting, regulation reducing, keep my money to me & my mates line of thinking.
Actually they were sweeteners Lincs to get the common people onside.
They use money to buy countries and then take away their identity by filling them with Mygrants and Immygrants to dilute their customs and heritage with their open door policies, and when a country adopts the forain labour they find they canāt manage when itās taken away.
The recent governments of this country are as much to blame for this neglect of the British people by not having the balls to stand up to forane invaders, because thatās what they are.
Show me how this country benefitted since we joined the EU?
No industry, no proper workers except incomers, no energy, no farmingā¦
Itās going to take years to put this right, thatās assuming most British people havenāt got the fight anymore.
Whenever large sums of money are involved you get corruption. The EU has recently had cases such as Qatargate and the Huawei bribery case. Nothing seems to be done about it.
Because they are too big Scot, sort of āuntouchableā because one country only has one vote.
They allow small countries to join and keep them sweet, very useful when you need their support against a much larger country.
Absolutely NOT.
And the EU punished us for having done so.
Primarily by Shunting The migration surge. This way.
Alas to Rejoin. More Punishment. By way of reparations. We are unable to afford.
Subliminally, the EU would prefer us to be Involved/Participate.
Perchance. With a codicil. Similar to Norway, Switzerland & Canada.
Would be met with a less expensive. Halfway house. Alternative Involvement.
Youāve been watching the wrong TV. This is made up alarmist rubbish. The immigration policy of the EU is about restrictions to immigration from outside the EU for each member country. It limits immigration to certain categories only - highly qualified workers, students, researchers, corporate placements. Individual countries set their own immigration rules within this overall framework. You can read all this in the EU web sites. What you will not find is an open door policy for non-EU immigration. And of course UKās non-EU immigration sky-rocketed after Brexit. Go figure.
As for introductory sweeteners to get people on side - can you explain the Black Country Relief road? The 5.5 billion euros of funding for the UK each year - by the European Structural Investment fund which focuses on less developed regions (which the UK has quite a few). Or maybe you are getting confused with the recognised need to address less developed regions in the countries more recently joining the EU. Which is not a surprise. But then again we can look at Poland which benefited from such investments but now has fewer less developed regions as its economy has grown so rapidly after joining the EU.
But as always Iām happy to help with your lack of awareness.
The Fundamental & Pivotal Reason for UK >> Brexit.
Angela Merkel.
Who opened a Welcoming door to Germany for Migrants!!
Over 1Million and irrevocably increasing arrivals
Wir Schaffen Da. [We Can Do It]

Were we Erroneous? Or Forsighted !!
Isnāt this just getting some of our own money back? You didnāt mention how much money we have paid into the EU coffers.
Now we are spending it on French Beaches ![]()
Yes, the net contribution to the EU by the UK was higher than the amounts invested by the EU in UK projects. But the return, in terms of the value of the trade, was much higher. And that return could have been even higher if the UK government had invested in supporting UK businesses deal with European customers better - where was the push to get French, German, Italian, Spanish taught to all kids at school? None, the opposite in fact, with a huge decline in language teaching. See article. How could the UK be expected to court customers, build partnerships, handle customer issues when there is such poor language skills? Why would Europeans buy from British companies who fail to equip themselves to handle a different language? The UK had a massive opportunity that was squandered.
