Around these parts. They are more “Ingenious”.
Pathway.
GP. Creates a Hospital appointment for a critical condition.
Attend. Wait five hours.
Registrar arrives with four students in tow.
Stethoscope probed for 3 min,
No verbal questions exchanged.
Waltz out. Returning 30mins later.
Entering the room. From a half-open door.
Says.
“UNBENEFICIAL”
And disappears before being able to question why.
A Vital Member of the NHS, with “Security” on the uniform, arrives.
Points to a sign. That reads. “Exit This Way”.
Later at GP surgery. Pressed the Dr. for an explanation
Reluctant, Crouched Response.
Triage Is Different for those Over 75.
Home care after invasive surgery, with a Probability/Possibility of relief: “Uncertain”.
That is when you DON’T. “Forget How Old You Are”.
Redundant. And a "Drain on Available Resources. Despite 65 years of Contributing.
Outcome.
Recognising that there are many worse served and suffering than yourself.

Ah, well this is where I am always the winner. Due to my age and other heart related parameters, I am taken to hospital appointments by medically trained E-Med patient transport teams and as such my progress when I arrive is expeditated because I am then taken back to my front door by E-Med within minutes of appointment finishing. From my point of view, I cannot fault the NHS and the close attention I now receive

Congratulations for how your condition has been satisfactory.
I’m well aware that NHS Hospitals attend to 141 million cases a year.
The problem is that one letter is a Misnomer.
“NATIONAL”.
Be assured that Surgeons and supportive Anaesthetists are in short supply.
Those that are. Reluctant to venture a hit-or-miss reputation.
With One Carotid Artery Stent required. Subsequently, possibly two.
Unavailable at two equadistanced 30mls Teaching Hospitals.
With a sub-optimal option:
There is a surgeon. [Best part of 300 miles away].
Who “May”. Be prepared to undertake.
This being a personal and experienced Profiling.
Of the NHS. Generally.
