Do you sometimes forget how old you are?

It must have been close Foxy, bit like the Chicken and the Egg.

I still use M$ DOS everyday in the form of batch files, much quicker than GUI, fortunately Windows still knows what to do because it is still on every computer in the form of CMD.exe (Command Prompt)

As I get older I generally forget until I look in the mirror when shaving and wonder who that other guy is. I am blessed to be still above ground, fit and healthy. You just have to keep motivated and not worry about the age thing. You only go around this old world once, so grab the gusto and enjoy. Until the man upstairs has plans for you.

Mentally I still feel and think like I did at 30, I do enjoy peace and quiet a little more but generally my nature has remained the same, as I pass 60 though my body reminds me daily how old I am! I’ll see something to pick up, don’t even think on it and then something will bite me lol, the back, shoulder, knee… good fun! Son drags out a footy and I naturally join in for a kick or 2, silly me :S , still, don’t want to lose the desire!

Those within my medical teams (doc’s practice and cardiology) never let me forget my age. If I question as to why something is affecting me, the stock answer is usually “well, you are 86+ and doing well for your age”.
While being prepped for an op some months ago, I heard the anaesthetist say to one of the others in the team “he is of an age when special obs will be needed, so please be aware” Next thing I knew was back in recovery and readings being taken, so I knew I had survived👍

Strange thing, you get older every day, and it gets more difficult to keep up with how old you are

Ah, well this is where I am always the winner. Due to my age and other heart related parameters, I am taken to hospital appointments by medically trained E-Med patient transport teams and as such my progress when I arrive is expeditated because I am then taken back to my front door by E-Med within minutes of appointment finishing. From my point of view, I cannot fault the NHS and the close attention I now receive :+1:

Congratulations for how your condition has been satisfactory.

I’m well aware that NHS Hospitals attend to 141 million cases a year.
The problem is that one letter is a Misnomer.
“NATIONAL”.
Be assured that Surgeons and supportive Anaesthetists are in short supply.
Those that are. Reluctant to venture a hit-or-miss reputation.

With One Carotid Artery Stent required. Subsequently, possibly two.
Unavailable at two equadistanced 30mls Teaching Hospitals.
With a sub-optimal option:
There is a surgeon. [Best part of 300 miles away].

This being a personal and experienced Profiling.
Of the NHS. Generally.
