My Real Estate agent has changed the rent receival company and told me it was up to me to go to my bank to have the previous withdrawals stopped. I went to my bank to do this. They assured me that there will be no more payments taken from my account.
You guessed it. Checking my account this morning, a payment they assured me would not occur, occurred.
Now I have to go back in there and go through the process again.
Do you have these sorts of issues with you business dealings?
Here in the UK we don’t go to our bank, there aren’t many branches left everything is supposed to be done online. Things run smoothly, and they don’t make mistakes nowadays.
Estate agents on the other hand …
You should talk to them again.
Hi
In my experience, nobody has ever invented a foolproof system.
You spend an enormous amount of time and money inventing one and then comes along a bigger fool than you could ever have thought about.
This is the definition of management.
Oh last brave words.
Right now am trying to get a optician charge statement to correct my payments.
They changed systems, and forgot to carry over past payments made.
I’ve been on the phone three times, emailed my pay receipts to them.
Finally, went to the offices: would you believe they said they have no management of payment at their offices?!?
Lucky for me, I demanded to speak to a supervisor. She could see from my receipts how frustrated I have been over charges made six months ago, that should have been retracted.
Wish me luck in the next three weeks. She put in requests for these documented charges to be corrected and refund me the double payments I made.
Oh I wish you luck …all the lick in the world.
My major gripe was with my bank years ago. I’d banked with them for decades then suddenly they decided they needed verification of my account … for fear I was moneylaundering !!
Oh I wish! Never had that much money.
Good luck with it Righty ![]()
Businesses regularly mess up but mostly because people working in those businesses mess up. There are few cases of businesses setting up systems or processes to repeatedly mess up in their favour (in does happen, I know, just not a lot). These people messing up events seem to happen when something is accidentally dropped - such as making a commitment then forgetting to act on that commitment. Or it happens in the circumstances of systems, processes or people changing - and then in that change some error is created.
My favourite story was of a French bank with many wealthy, private clients. They changed the system that produced the bank statements. Unfortunately in the change a client with many bank accounts suddenly got all statements posted to the address of their primary account. For many this was not even noticed. But for some, usually the most wealthy, this was a big problem. Wealthy, powerful French men often have mistresses, to whom they give a nice apartment in order to facilitate the “cinq a sept” couple of hours liaison. But when the bank account set up for the mistress suddenly arrives at the man’s primary address…oops.
