No celebration on my 40th birthday but I was taken out by my family for meal on my second 40th birthday!
Great photos and great memories for you, Bev.
I expect me and the kids and mum and dad had a family party, we did that every birthdayš
But what I remember most is that I was working in a playgroup at the time and they decorated the outside of the hut with balloons and streamers and a banner saying āHappy 40th Mary!ā
No chance of keeping it quiet, then! Happy Days ā¦ā¦
@LionQueen what a great set of photos, such lovely memories to treasure always. You look as if you had loads of fun!
I didnāt celebrate my 40th,
My 50th was spent in hospital having stitches removed after major surgery
My 60th was spent during lockdown so never went anywhere
Iāve just had my 62nd birthday last Saturday, I celebrated more with that one, if you include going for coffee at a garden centre and having a Chinese takeaway for tea celebratingā¦
@LionQueen My goodness looks like a good time was had by all , but where were the Men , were they banished to another room ,?
I suppose you may not have had such a good time if men were allowed, Thank you for sharing your Birthday Bash
@Primus1 , you cannāt beat a good Chinese,I try to have Chinese once a month, its with the family , maybe on your next Birthday have family round for a Chinese take away ā¦
Im wanting a Chinese now ,
@Maree love the sound of that , the children must have loved all the Balloons.
My 40th Birthday⦠l was pregnant with my āsurpriseā fifth baby. At 10 am at night. The hospital rang, my son then aged 15, was in hospital after celebrating with his friends. One of the older kids gave him half a bottle of whisky, he drank it and ended up in hospital having his stomach pumped!
My 60th āsurpriseā birthday party was wonderful. My ex partner set up a screen on the stage at the party venue so l could āspeakā to my son in Australia. Then suddenly⦠my son walked out from behind the screen after secretly flying into the U.K. lt was so emotional to see him.
Later, āDiana Rossā who won āStars In Their Eyesā had been booked by my ex partner, to sing all my favourite Tamla Motown songs on the stage.
I will never forget that night with all my family and friends. Here is a pic of me on the nightā¦
@Artangel , lovely memories, abit like This is Your Life for you 60th.
40th was one to rememberr too ,bet you didnt let your Son forget that night .
And a lovely Photo of you , so young looking .
Thank You Eliza for saying nice things about me.
When we got to the hospital, the nurse said, my son was so drunk, he had been swearing at everyone, even the doctor. To shame him they put him on the childrenās ward with all the little children!
The two older boys, were frightened of me as l gave them a telling off for giving him the half bottle of whisky.
They are now in their fifties and look a bit sheepish when they see me but we all laugh about it now!
@Artangel haha , I bet Hospitals staff see a lot of young ones after their first drunk session.
Good to laugh about it now though . ā¦
