All I know is black and white, for portraits anyway, tends to hide a lot of blemishes…making me look younger and therefore feel younger
Gorgeous dog. Love collies
I don’t get that Lucy? You have said about wanting to look younger on other threads too. Does it really worry you? We’re all getting older, whether we like it or not.
Looking at an enhanced, or a black/white phtoto might make you feel younger for a few seconds, but then looking in the mirror brings us back to reality!
How we think, and feel inside matters most.
Besoeker, I don’t usually like B/W photos, but the one of Max amongst the trees is very nice.
Not remotely concerned about aging, I fully realize it is unavoidable. Simply observing that B&W is more forgiving.
Thank you Mups and Lucylulu. It is a nice extensive wooded area near Milton Keynes ideal for walkers and dogs.
Wow, small world. I have a cousin in Milton Keynes…or near there at least.
Guess that makes him a distant cousin
Yes, a small world. My home was in in the hills in Scotland near Kirriemuir. That’s where my school was.- and the home of JM Barry of Peter Pan fame. Then I went to university in Edinburgh. Then I was offered a job in Milton Keynes. That’s not the end of the story. A couple of years later I and a colleague teamed up for forty years…
Now you more than me!
If you can believe it I lived in the UK for nearly 5 years abut it wasn’t till I returned I discovered I had family there…shame. Perhaps one day I will be able to return and track them down…
I hope you do. The internet is pretty useful for that - you can be close to family wherever you are in the world. I have relatives in Georgia (USA), Jamaica, Canada, Taiwan.
They are close in a sense.
Colour for me 95% of the time, but the 5% B&W is the cream topping. B&W is fab when playing with shadows and for subtle portraits. And both together …
And the Beatles did do a White album…its a wonder they didn’t do a Black one…just to keep you happy lol
The one above is mostly black with a few shades of grey.
As my profile pic will attest, I am not adverse to a few shades of grey myself
Actually, just between you and me I think I am in trouble for my pro pic…
