Coffee ding making of

These I am not keen on, having tried both
So what is coffee and tea ding. Well first of all you need a special machine called a microwave. Now the complicated part of getting coffee or tea ding is setting the timer. Set the wrong time and it doesn’t work. So placing a cup of coffee or tea in a microwave is the first thing. Next is setting the timer. switch on and wait.
When the microwave goes ding then you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea ding

While it is quite acceptable to make instant coffee in a microwave only Philistines make tea in one.

only if it dings when ready

How quaintly 1960s, mine plays a little tune when the job is done.

I suppose what you mean is you are boiling a mug/cup of water in the microwave, removing it and dunking a tea bag or a fancy loose tea holder in said water and adding milk/soya/sugar. I am sure this is more economical than filling a kettle with a litre of cold water and bringing to boil. Water in kettle then cools until you refill it and bring to boil again for a second cup.

Only Philistines use teabags too :icon_wink:

Now that jogs my memory…

We never had one of those, they were probably a fire hazard. Hasn’t she got a big hand! :open_mouth::coffee:

I always wanted one but, like you, never had one.

I bought my mum one in the 70’s and she was still using it over 20 years later. :grinning:

I just had a quick look on Amazon Mr Smith while sipping on my laboriously hand made coffee :slightly_smiling_face:
Lo and behold…

I only really use a microwave to heat up hot chocolate - having first mixed up the powder with boiling water and cold milk/soya. Occasionally I have heated uo a mug of tea in the microwave, when it has gone cold, but it seems to lose some of the flavour. Far better to make a fresh one!
