China bans religions being pushed onto under 18 year olds

China leading the way again - they’ve now made it illegal to push religion onto under 18 year olds. The sooner humanity is rid of the affliction the better! Well done China!

Hear hear

Ahem! Suppression of any political dissent, the targeting of dissidents abroad, the lack of a free press, trades unions, political parties other than the Chinese Communist Part :grinning:

China also leads the way in the areas you mention too

What’s that got to do with religion?

Nothing .I wondered what else China had done to make the world a better place.

Good question…

It’s a bit like The Life of Brian’s, “What did the Romans ever do for us?”

I’d say that China has made the world a better place by making things like affordable TVs, electric cars, bicycles, white goods, 3D printers, mobile phones, windmills, solar panels and, not least of all, buying lots of lovely Australian coal and iron ore.

Loads John :icon_biggrin: for a start, they have lifted 800 million people out of poverty… who were only in poverty because of this country’s disgusting ruling class and the opium war they imposed on them.

The West (or more specifically, the West’s rulers - because let’s face it, the people in the West were the first to be colonised and manipulated and used) have a lot to answer for, and pretty much everything we’ve been taught about China is propaganda.

China is not perfect (but remb: opium wars and the aftermath of that) - but their people have a higher standard of living now than most of the world, despite the odds against them, and despite the propaganda, and despite the West actively working towards trying to weaken or destroy them. And yet, they continue to rise…

I find it interesting that one can only decide to follow one of 5 religions, with anything outside these being considered as superstitions.

So did Maggie, well maybe 80 thousand but, you get the drift.

Being atheist myself I applaud them.
