Chedzoy, Zumerzet

Whilst looking for somewhere to stop for a brew, we managed to find a space in a very busy car park next to King’s Sedgemoor Drain. The drain diverts the River Cary and dumps it into the tidal River Parrett to help drain the local peat moors.

The bridge from which I took the previous photo.

The Outlaws and my Lovely Cousin in the back of our camper-van. My Uncle/FiL looks cool for a 90 year old.

Downstream to Bridgwater.

Upstream towards the River Cary.

Buttercups and bushes along the banks of the cut.

Total gridlock. It took us ages before someone let us out onto this busy main highway.

What are those white bushes?

I don’t know, but they looked very striking even from a distance.

It could be this.

We had a may tree in our garden, but the flowers were red with white, which is why I didn’t recognise the bushes.
