Charity - a step too far?

Bleedin hell that’s jaw dropping stuff.
I think they’ve got altogether too cheeky and grasping.

Time was, in the past, that a donation was appreciated no matter the amount and made the giver feel they might make a difference.
Once they started stipulating an amount it was like they were trying to shame people into coughing up.

I never do the DD thing, my only regular contribution is that I do the Cat’s Protection League lottery

Because I like to choose and give a little bit to lots of them, sponsor someone doing something daft, bake and buy at a cake sale, buy a poppy, that sort of stuff

Demanding a monthly payment must mean they put lots of people like me off?

Me I don’t give to charity unless they can prove it is a proper charity. I would never give my card number to anyone out side a super market

I think this is getting more common. There was someone collecting for guide dogs outside the supermarket. I got my purse out to give him some cash but he said he couldn’t take it as he only wanted people to sign up for regular donations. I declined as I have 3 charities I give to regularly, ones which affect me directly.
