Gollums:

“I bow to your superior knowledge Judsy my Precious, I’m afraid I’m not a bit Gollum-ish!”

Over to you for the next word…

Hmm, I would never have thought Judd and Precious synonymous to each other.

The things I learn from this thread is amazing!

I assure you Judsy is not my precious though I’m sure he’s a very nice guy. As you probably know Gollum is a character from Lord Of The Rings by J R R Tolkien and “Precious”, alternatively “the Precious”, “my Precious” or “his Precious”, was a name given to the One Ring by various Ring-bearers. Its use indicated the morbid covetousness induced in holders of the Ring by the Ring itself.
In 2463, Gollum took possession of the Ring after murdering Déagol. In 2470, Gollum hid in the Misty Mountains, taking the Ring with him into darkness. When he began calling the Ring his “precious” is unknown.

Just a little bit of history from LOTR, a book that has lived on our bookshelf since the mid sixties.A great, great read and a fantastic film.

No harm meant, Cherie. I use every chance I get to tease the Juddpester, always and often. Your reference made me laugh, and couldn’t control myself. I should try to do better at that, but gave up trying long ago.

Anyone going to make a word from Gollums, cos I can’t. :102:
Shall we start again?

It’s all Judd’s fault!

Off we go again then. And resist the temptation to make too many words with Ks and Gs in them. Damned difficult to make any words if we don’t.

Right. Are we all content to start again?

That’s better Judsy.
