Boris has missed out big time on this.
Putin is talking to Macron first.
So much for Boris leading the response, Putin could not have given him a bigger snub.
I read somewhere that Boris was supposed to have scheduled a call with Putin at 4pm yesterday, but chose to face the House of Commons about the Gray Report instead. 
Yes I think thatâs correct Pixie - I read it in the Telegraph this morning. So no snub just bad timing.

everything seems to be on a knife edge or is that a rocket edge perhaps- lot of threatening going on from both sides - but yea more in it than just meets the eye

I doubt that anyone can stop Putin if he really wants to do something.
He is evil through and through.
Some interesting reading on Johnsons real motives.
I was just thinking what if it were possible for Putin and Hitler got together.
Only last week l was leaning towards support for Putin in his greivance
over Ukraine !
But just yesterday he made a speech where he laid bare a long standing
opinion that Russia has been robbed the western alliance since the end of
WW2 !
Admitted the speech came through the lips of translators! But the degree
of his annoyance was obvious by his manner and tone, he seems to be
motivated by a deep sense of resentment and even hate towards the west
and NATO in particular ?
He even believes that the west orchestrated the collapse of communism and
the old USSR??
Why it took so long for this anti west feeling to manifest l have no idea?
Perhaps he was waiting for the best moment to act?
Perhaps Serge Lavrov has influenced him?
