And voted him in again when he was 47 and again when he was 51 … so he must have been doing something right for quite a while.
Whereas Liz Truss was also young, 47, when she became prime minister (not by popular vote one must add). And she, wait for it, very much still 47 when she got kicked out for close to screwing the economy. So she must have been doing nothing right.

I LOVE watching videos of UK parliament . We make pretend Brits enjoy these things .
My favorite are the older videos of Thatcher because she was witty , fast on her feet .

I’m not sure what one of those is. Might that simply be a polite way of saying champagne socialist? More likely Blair was social democrat / liberal but wanted the PM job so needed a mass party to ride on. And after so many years of Thatcher the tories had swung quite far right so they would not have accepted a centralist leader. They still thought the energy, water and rail privatisations were a stonking success. Hah.

Today a few big elections here in the USA .
Some will be close to the wire , so I think but who knows .
The most interesting one and though not a forgone conclusion but looks to be Mamdani in NY .
IMO he will win not because he is a Socialist but because he is not Cuomo and just likeTrumps victory enough wanted someone new , thinking outside the box and both promise the world but delivering is another story all together .

In fact, the protest march in London by the people who didn’t like what Blair (George W Bush’s lapdog) was doing, was the largest protest that London had ever seen at the time…

A great movie just not the acting but movie period was Devils Double about the man who was Uday Hussein body double
I had no idea before began to read up on Uday that Iraqi’s say he raped / killed over 1,000 girls so his death was a great thing that came out of that but I agree it was based on lies but at least Uday being killed was great .

Awhile back I watched again Killer Clowns From Outer Space followed by the Omen ( latest version ) it was like 8 pm and since night was not going to risk taking out the trash .

One of the best Prime Ministers Australia ever had. As Treasurer he reformed the economy so that Australia never had a recession for over 30 years. got rid of tariffs, rejigged our relationship with Asia and China and floated the AUS$

I meet lots of tourists here used to be Canada number 1 but they stopped coming so think now UK , Spain , Germany , Italy , Scotland in that order but Australians are rare .
Granted I do not go around asking everyone where from and only meet a tiny percentage of tourists but from countless conversations can count on one hand how many Australians I have met .

You are all missing the point. Youngsters often don’t listen to older retired people who have “been there and done it”. They may consider a "new "idea may well have been tried-tested and rejected already. Wisdom comes with age and can’t be replaced.

I only went to trade school couple years after my stint in the Army but I hope my next life I go to College AND Medical school as would love to do free stuff as a Doctor to help people when retired .
However when first start out , Divorce my first wife who stood with me when I did not have a nickel , marry a useless trophy wife perhaps play golf .
Just make sure you get some decent insurance cover if you provide medical treatment when you are retired NCS…
