Best "World Movie" you have seen?

I haven’t see many but this left quite an impression.
It’s about a man looking for the bike he needs for work which has been stolen.

I thought it meant in a foreign language :grinning:

Tough one that, not sure I’ve seen any particularly of late.
A man walks down the street
He says, "Why am I short of attention?
Got a short little span of attention
And, whoa, my nights are so long

Is that because the OP said French in the text? The clip had no words, just music.

For people in countries where English is not the major language, are all films in English foreign films?

Brett is in Oz.They have a TV channel SBS world Movies. This is from google.

SBS World Movies is an Australian free-to-air television channel showing international movies. The channel features foreign language films, documentaries, independent and mainstream cinema and interviews with international movie stars. It was previously known simply as World Movies and was available on Foxtel.

That may allay any confusion.

Wikipedia -
World cinema is a term in film theory that refers to films made outside of the American motion picture industry, particularly those in opposition to the aesthetics and values of commercial American cinema.

Mystifying. There’s a whole genre of movies that are defined as being not from the US but then defines its success by how well it did in the US.

I may have been unclear when asking about World Movies.
As Psmith mentioned, being from Australia, SBS (Special Broadcasting Services) has a dedicated World Movies channel which shows international movies.

I know that this topic is in the past tense but it has prompted me to see if the 2022 remake of All Quiet on The Western Front has been released yet.

Sure enough it has although I’m reluctant to pay over twenty two quid plus postage at this point in time.
I’ll come back when I have seen it

I hope this counts? It’s made in South Korea

I really enjoyed Parasite, it’s a thriller about a very poor family moving in on a wealthy one. Very tense in places

I remember watching that one.
Conniving infiltrators.

The first film that left a lasting impression on me was Mandy (1952 film) - Wikipedia and I have been on the side of the disadvantaged ever since.

It was good, though, wasn’t it? Very sinister and creepy

Some films will do that. The Grapes of Wrath did it for me

La Dolce Vita. I saw it in some fleapit of a cinema in the 60’s.I think we thought it was going to be some porn film. There were some beautiful women it though but all done in the best possible taste.

Cinema Paradiso was brilliant or would have been if they chopped off the first and last few minutes.

The Swedish The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was really good too

Hard to chose between them but on the whole I think Cinema Paradiso is slightly ahead as my favourite
