Best melancholic compilation album?

And really sad … Nick Drake, died from an antidepressant overdose, very very young. Perhaps his tunes, more than most, betray his private melancholia.

Oh I shall be getting sad soon … this kind of music is so stirring and beautiful but really tugs at your emotions so can be a bit too much if you’re in a low mood.

Most Radiohead are quite miserable but tuneful

It makes me incredibly homesick. Waterloo sunsets really are a thing, we’d often walk down and watch the sunset over the Thames :cry:

The Manics did a good version too.

And everything by the Smiths (I’ve heard)seems to be sad.

I very often listen to James Taylor. He has a lovely mellow, soothing voice.
