It was the 1970-s and i was home on leave for the first time having just joined the Army,
One of my mates asked if i’d go with him to the all nighter at the Cavern club in Liverpool,
He had long hair and thought he looked like Ray Davies the lead singer of the kink’s, I had the Army (down to the wood) cut and i’d all the comments from my old mates like they’d seen more hair on Bacon & how long did you get etc etc etc, So to go to one of the norths most popular clubs with a hair cut like i had was really trying my luck on getting hooked up with any girl & with my friend flicking his long hair every two minutes really let you know he was pushing this pop image thing,
We stood for over an hour waiting to get into the Cavern Club and we got nearer & nearer to the door that led you down the steps and into the club,
Stood behind us was four Liverpool girls and the really did have the Liverpool chat,
one of these girls tapped my mate on the shoulder and said,
A Lad is it snowing where you come from?
My mate said
in August ? I dont think so,
She replied Oh sorry it must be Dandruff on your shoulders,
18 months later they married and i was his best man,
