Oh good, I worried it was just me! Haha I hopped into that real life Carry On stories thread on here and worried I’d over shared or hugely misjudged the tone of this website. Was nearly a huge oops from me haha! You’re right we all need a bit of sauce (ooo err). I heard Confessions of a Windowcleaner mentioned on the radio the other day, hadn’t thought about that for decades!
Nah!
All’s good, welcome to the forum and a terrific saucy introduction
[Holds head in hands] oh god is that what everyone’s going to know me for now?! Haha what have I done!
Goodness, no of course not!
Wait, hang on…aren’t you that schoolgirl whose knickers fell down in public on a windy day?
Ok I have to admit that made me howl
Loved the Beverly Hillbillies with granny being my favorite
I used to love this too! Not as much a fan of the film but what a classic show
So many old British comedies I used to love, but these are from the 70s when I was a real TV addict!
The Liver Birds
Bless this house
Man about the house
George and Mildred
Love thy neighbour
One of the best must have been Some Mothers do ‘Ave’ Em!
My all-time favorite will always remain this one, it still has me in stitches when I re-watch it!
A top selection there Rose!
I could indulge in a serious DVD binge fest with that lot!
Square eyes time
Oh, not heard of this! Why was it controversial?
It was considered by some to be racist. The Independent Television Authority certainly thought so and the show was cancelled. It’s in a similar vein to Till Death Us Do Part, not surprising since Johnny Speight wrote both of them.I find it very funny!
Oh gosh, I know it was a different time and all but you do occasionally watch an old series and go ‘what on EARTH were they thinking!’
I wouldn’t actually remember it from the time, it’d have been broadcast after I was in bed!
I don’t know how the cast managed to keep a straight face during filming
Just as aside I had a look on Amazon. The DVD now costs forty two quid!
I bought mine about ten years ago, no way was it that much. Just goes to show that some DVDS can become collectors items.
The Likely Lads was ok and got better when it came back in the 70’s.
Oh that was a good show wasn’t it
I think one of the best was when they were trying to avoid knowing a football result.
