I’ve had these for a little while so tisn’t my fault!

it is not food to store up,I can remember when there was an actual shortage of toilet rolls. Not some thick politician has dreamed up, possibly because of having shares in a company.
Also not too long ago I can remember there being a milk shortage.

Typical labour politicians idea of being helpful! NOT. But then again that is the fantastic brain power they don’t possess

The best before dates will have expired long before they’ll ever be needed in an ā€˜emergency’.

I haven’t had corned beef since I was a kid, I really must get some now.

I’ve started to stock up with fliers that come through my letterbox. After the forthcoming invasion, war and thermonuclear destruction, I’ll deffo need my driveway and guttering cleaning, as well as access to home delivered takeaways and cheap tins of chickpeas.

If I collect enough of these fliers, then hopefully there’ll still be a few of the traders still operating and one of the phone numbers might work.

Well it has a decent shelf life! :+1:

We’re slowly getting back to normal after an emergency - the lorry drivers protest, blocking motorways in the South of the country. No provisions arriving on supermarket shelves for four days and no fuel at petrol stations.
Lots of panic buying going on. I just did my normal shopping but I stocked up on petrol, living in the middle of the countryside, 20 minutes away from town. :anguished:

I’ll never forget the Covid stock-up! I wouldn’t want to go through that again!

I thought that happened during Covid - there was a shortage of lots of things, not helped by people hoarding and panic buying.

I think you are right - it could be scaremongering. But I’ll put a few more beers in the fridge…

It’s another distraction from whatever calamity this corrupt government are doing behind our backs.

Long live Princes.

It was mentioned on the BBC news earlier today that the government (Burnham) said that by stocking up on food it has done wonders for the economy with people spending much more than they would have done…Budget tomorrow…Timing beautiful…

Im stocking up with ice cubes so I can build an igloo and drink the walls.

I agree. Being prepared with a sensible supply of essentials like food, water, and LED lights is just common sense. It’s about being ready for unexpected situations, not giving in to fear. Panic buying is different because it often creates unnecessary shortages for everyone else.

I can do three days without any beans, must apply the Kanban principle to the beer though

Edit

If there is going to be a catastrophie, gonna need a beer!!!

Quite, regardless of any politics that may or may not have been involved the bottom line is that you have something to fall back on, that’s what really counts, in my mind at least! :slightly_smiling_face:
And yes, I remember panic buying during COVID as many of us do. At times it almost became nasty in a competitive kind of way, not nice!
