Tooheys New or, if I am out of the state, Carlton Draught for me
I have vodka in my coffee in the morning Pauline, a Bloody Mary for lunch, then gin in my tea in the afternoon and of course a hot Toddy to send me to sleep at nightâŠ
Talking of Gin in your tea, that reminds me of a gift I received from one of my kids ⊠I didnât know one could add gin to tea until I received this Hendricks âMidnight Tea Partyâ cup & saucer gift set!
According to the experts itâs meant to be ice tea, preferably earl grey
Shucks! Thatâs where Ahâve bin goinâ wrong - Ahâve bin adding a drop to ma Yorkshire Tea which âas bin stewingâ onât stove all day!
No wonder Ah canna taste the gin in it!
Iâll have a couple of glasses of rosĂ© on a Saturday evening and a large Gordonâs & diet lemonade or a large Jakeâs gin & diet lemonade on a Sunday evening.
Blimey!
What do you do instead ⊠orange juice?
all the things I donât drink. I like beer, whiskey and full bodied reds. Most days just a little red wine.
I donât think of myself as a heavy drinker, I maybe have a drink, normally a single small glass on 2, or maybe as many as 4 evenings a week. Or not at all some weeks. With a bottle of spirits lasting me several months. I enjoy quality over quantity & will happily pay ÂŁ30 plus for what I enjoy.
I like a single malt. Bourbons like makers mark, woodfords reserve & I know itâs not a Bourbon, but Mellow Corn. I used to love Old Crow, Old Grandad, Wild Turkey, four roses. But they have either become corprate copies, or vanished altogether . I also love vodka. Thinks like Bison Grass, Stolichnaya, Belvedere, Chase, Black Cow.
I also enjoy red wine & real ales, but avoid so called craft ales. Craft ale being a totally meaningless term.
I donât go to pubs anymore, just the occasional tin of Abbott at home.
Or rabbit as a friend used to call it.
